i come from a hybrid family, im part portugeese, part english and part indian. However for this part of the competition i have chosen to research and draw my indian side.My Mum's Great great great great .......grandma was a housewife, as in those times, ladies werent a part of the society unlike men. Bein a housewife included going to the village well and carrying pots and pots of water for cooking and bathing. coming from the south of india from a state called Madras. The caste system reinged in those days and they were part of the lower caste (which im proud of because if we didnt exist with our farms the upper caste wouldnt have food to survive on!!) . where the men were farmers and the wives helped them and also did the housework. the time i took to do this is sorta alot for such a poor quality of work, but i was experimenting and trying different stuff and then kept undoin everything!! |

Hard perspective to do. I hope you go back and put in a background, even just a subtle color and a foreground too because they seem a little lost in the frame. It is an amazing piece though.

I wanted to say that this has such a soft, peaceful, serene feeling to it. I don't think I'm familiar with the book or the movie, but it also reminds me of a children's book illustration.

I'm having a lot of trouble with the second person. Right now she (or at least she will be a she) looks like nothing more than a bunch of misshapen wire hangers. Anybody have any pointers? ^__^;;;;Hmmmm. . . I think this would be a heck of a lot easier if I had a tablet. There wouldn't se so many stray lines.
I'm a bit concerned with the proprtions of the woman. I have a sinking feeling that she's considerably smaller that the man. . . I can't quite tell. Does it look off to anyone? Oh, and they will have clothes eventually. I suck at clothes so that will probably be the last thing I do.

What? Clothes? BLASPHEMY!! Wait...you're doing this WITHOUT a tablet? WHAT? That is...unbelievable. That's totally amazing. Yes, the woman is smaller than the man, about child-size compared to him. I don't see a problem with that, however. I need to finish this one soon.
I'm sorry to do this guys, but I've had this in my inventory for ages. I hit a road block and just can't get myself around it. School has kept me off and has drained all of my creative energies. I'm hoping that starting with some room in my inventory will help me get back into the swing of things. >___<

This is a design for a logo my aunt asked me for her company/job/Ireallydon'tknow. But hopefuly it will be rejected and I can use it as an ID for Deviant Art xD xD Anyway, my aunt told me that the theme was evolution, I tried diferent designs: birds, humans, lizards... birds/humans/lizards. But, at the end I followed an old idea I had when I was little: Ammonites (and their modern descendants, the nautilius) represent for me the pass of time. Their spiral and gorgeous designs not only show age, but functionality, a design that had to envolve to reach that state. No, it's not perfect (nothing is perfect) but at least it has worked for the last 260 millions years! xD So, Nautilius = symbol of evolution. And by the way, they are extremely beautiful. I'm sorry if what I wrote is nonsense, I'm still not confident when writing in english. :)

This is just stunning. I do some graphic art for pay and would like to make a suggestion. Resize the name smaller so that it kind of lies "inside" the white space instead of extending into the shell. The shell is very gorgeous and also "busy", so you dont really want to add more lines to that area. I love the lettering style and i love the grey tones you picked. :)

Whoa, nice changes you made in finishing this! I like how it looks like one of those CG cell-shaded game characters-very cool :). Do I even need to point out how the horns rule? I didn't think so ;).
