extremely great likeness.

the colours used are phenomenal..the lips and eyes..I have tried to pain this woman's face along with others, but hers the most and I have yet to ger all her facial feature correct...so I enjoy looking at this..the only thing I would stay to tune up some..would be the hair , needs a little definition..but that is me of course, you are your own artist and for you this maybe finished. But this is phenomenal! pardon my mispellings.

I like the skin texture you added. I like his wrinkles, too.... people with wrinkles are intresting to draw. It's like, all their life experiences and feelings and whatever are written on their faces.
Sweetcell (Apr 4, 2006)
I think you can be a believer of both, and I am. Being Roman Catholic myself I learned about His creation and evolution, and it's funny it seemed easy for me to blend the two, meld it if you will. I believe He exists and created the Earth and everything around us, but I also believe in the Big Bang and evolution... hmmmm maybe that makes me a bit by-polar. That would explain things.

You can have Creation and Evolution, I believe it. Maybe someone just needs to find the middle where both fits.

Awesome piece Opium, love that hair. He does look tired.....

Figured it's time I made the transition to digital art. This is my first attempt ... I think I'm starting to get the hang of this tablet.

from a distance it looked like the thumb was a bald man staring at me. I like making digital art over things like paintings because of less time needed to make something and more flexability with working and reworking an area without ever running out of materials or wearing through the paper, etc.
Fulgore (Mar 13, 2006)
Very nice grayscale drawing but the things edge is kinda flat its like a frown shaped edge urs is like [ more than ( but otherwise i'd believe that was a real hand
rickhazard (Mar 14, 2006)
Haha redpanda I took a couple of steps back and saw the same. Thanks for the tips

Rick, Great first shot at a drawing! You snuck this in without telling me. I think recognise that thumb...
Try starting out with a grey background (you can set that in the bottom layer, or work right on top of it).
You can add white for highlights, and it helps to 'see' better. (pure white rarely exsists in reality).

So, you got a tablet?

When I was seven, there was a girl named Julie Lovato who lived up the hill and across the dirt road in my neighborhood. I liked her and I wanted her to like me. She wouldn't give me the time of day. I would take my Schwinn Stingray and ride it past her house on the dirt road. I would wait till I thought maybe she might be looking out the window and I would wipe out on purpose hoping she would come to nurse me and be worried about me. I got a lot of skinned knees and bruises that summer. She never did come out and sometimes I wonder if I ever really did quit trying.

This is not good this is a bad use of colours and looks like CRAP
Axil62 (Mar 31, 2006)
Yeah, not enough contrast and complimentary color I guess.
Artiste (Mar 31, 2006)
Claire's expertise like gold! I wish she would comment on MY peices... lucky!

Schwinn's were the shit. I wish I still had mine. It was blue also, but w/ a regular seat. I could do a wheelie on it for as long as I wanted.

concannon (Jul 9, 2006)
Beautiful. I love that most of the color shades are brown and tan, and then there's just that little bit of blue in the necklace and earrings. Really, wonderful drawing.

So amazing. One of the most beautiful photorealistic pieces I've ever seen.
dorothyblueeyes (Oct 7, 2011)
Very beautiful. I think I know the difference between me and many of the other painters here, now.For example, this is very smooth, finished, and slick. It' very professional. Good job. I do not tend to like going all the way to smooth, finished, and photo-like. I like the paint(figuratively) to look and feel like paint.I even like it similar to paint, messy and gooey. And there seems to be a tendency here, to like everything very smooth, slick, and finished. Guess I am out of the groove. I just like allowing for different styles, and different veiwpoints of what painting and drawing is.
Teapot (Apr 5, 2016)
Actually, Dot, this is quite impressionistic compared to the photograph, not an attempt at photo-realism at all.
