This a really good picture. I espically like the leather jacket. :D
concannon (Jul 9, 2006)
Beautiful. I love that most of the color shades are brown and tan, and then there's just that little bit of blue in the necklace and earrings. Really, wonderful drawing.
Black_Bird (Jun 5, 2009)
Ah this is lovely.

I wouldn't mind one of these actually, when are they going to be in production?
Axil62 (Mar 28, 2006)
Well I'd like to get them into production before Dinco De Mayo this year but I'm going to need investors. Ya got $1500?
Sweetcell (Mar 29, 2006)
LOL the fartinator. Actually this would solve some smelly problems in the house.
Artiste (Apr 4, 2006)
Can you get it in any other color than flesh? Id like one to match my rug.

When I was seven, there was a girl named Julie Lovato who lived up the hill and across the dirt road in my neighborhood. I liked her and I wanted her to like me. She wouldn't give me the time of day. I would take my Schwinn Stingray and ride it past her house on the dirt road. I would wait till I thought maybe she might be looking out the window and I would wipe out on purpose hoping she would come to nurse me and be worried about me. I got a lot of skinned knees and bruises that summer. She never did come out and sometimes I wonder if I ever really did quit trying.

This is not good this is a bad use of colours and looks like CRAP
Axil62 (Mar 31, 2006)
Yeah, not enough contrast and complimentary color I guess.
Artiste (Mar 31, 2006)
Claire's expertise like gold! I wish she would comment on MY peices... lucky!

Schwinn's were the shit. I wish I still had mine. It was blue also, but w/ a regular seat. I could do a wheelie on it for as long as I wanted.

I haven't felt much inspiration to paint anything lately, and I kinda had the blahs and felt sad, so I was browsing photos of polar bears because that always cheers me up. They do so many cute, funny things and I end up laughing instead of feeling sad. I ran across this and wanted to paint it because of the pretty lighting. I love polar bears the bestest. I want one of my own but it's too hot here and it would just eat me anyway.

Omg, bahaha

Why is she so scared of polar bears?
ginny_91 (Mar 27, 2006)
Wow you are one of the best artist ever. I cannot believe this is a painting and on the computer. I'm not a bear lover but in this picture I think I sunddenly like them now!^^
Artiste (Apr 3, 2006)
My favorite thing about this is the way you painted the shadow on the face of the bear in the back. The transluscent quality shows such depth.
The colors are so sensitive, and palpable... (I love the way that orange next to pale lavendar happens so distinctly in nature)

Figured it's time I made the transition to digital art. This is my first attempt ... I think I'm starting to get the hang of this tablet.

from a distance it looked like the thumb was a bald man staring at me. I like making digital art over things like paintings because of less time needed to make something and more flexability with working and reworking an area without ever running out of materials or wearing through the paper, etc.
Fulgore (Mar 13, 2006)
Very nice grayscale drawing but the things edge is kinda flat its like a frown shaped edge urs is like [ more than ( but otherwise i'd believe that was a real hand
rickhazard (Mar 14, 2006)
Haha redpanda I took a couple of steps back and saw the same. Thanks for the tips
Artiste (Apr 2, 2006)
Rick, Great first shot at a drawing! You snuck this in without telling me. I think recognise that thumb...
Try starting out with a grey background (you can set that in the bottom layer, or work right on top of it).
You can add white for highlights, and it helps to 'see' better. (pure white rarely exsists in reality).

So, you got a tablet?

what the crap...who deleted my post?!

A glance through your point history showed me that no moderator has touched anything you submitted since I deleted the pictures you requested. Probably just your average internet hiccup.

So amazing. One of the most beautiful photorealistic pieces I've ever seen.
dorothyblueeyes (Oct 7, 2011)
Very beautiful. I think I know the difference between me and many of the other painters here, now.For example, this is very smooth, finished, and slick. It' very professional. Good job. I do not tend to like going all the way to smooth, finished, and photo-like. I like the paint(figuratively) to look and feel like paint.I even like it similar to paint, messy and gooey. And there seems to be a tendency here, to like everything very smooth, slick, and finished. Guess I am out of the groove. I just like allowing for different styles, and different veiwpoints of what painting and drawing is.
Teapot (Apr 5, 2016)
Actually, Dot, this is quite impressionistic compared to the photograph, not an attempt at photo-realism at all.
