This is my beautiful little granddaughter. She's a cheer leader, and she plays basketball and baseball. She loves to laugh and sing and draw. She wanted me to draw a picture of her. I tried honey..I hope you like it. XOXO

It's very beautiful and also interesting to look at....I used comic books as my inspiration for anatomy all the time when I first started oekaki..but now I don't need them...and i think eventually you will be able to come up with more original pieces....you are a great artist and we all have faith in you...:)

lori, we all go through that, when we were young our imaginations could keep us drawing all day long, then we age and life sucks the imagination and magic right out of our minds and hearts, so don't feel bad, we all have that issue, I have things floating up in my head but can't seem to lasso them and put them down on paper, the way my mind's eye sees them, that is probably why I get stuck using photo ref. so much, it is easier than frustrating my self to death trying to pick my brain and make my hands produce what my mind sees....oh such is the life of a cynic...lol

His face is fugly and nothing close to the dancer in the ref. *sigh* Well I had enough of it. Maybe I'll get back to it one day..... and also fix those pants. WTF? I thought I colored them solid black?

thank you...the balance between tone and texture was tricky...i still look at ver 5 and wonder if i should have left it there

I agree, fur is tricky... as well as the eyes and noses of animals.. you did a great job with all. I went back and looked at version 5 and I somewhat agree a softer background color, something to bring out the warm brown tones might work. I think you're right on target!
