Very good job at capturing a pose very realistic to a feline. Oddly though: the body looks like a kitten while the face seems more adult
emmamommalag (Aug 6, 2005)
The fur looks good.. nice and soft. I love the eyes and the background, too.

I like the background very well. It made me feel like it was a faraway audience in a big arena. Or maybe a guy standing playing a keyboard or hand drums, or something. But the main subject, wow! It's so pretty, such a great idea!
freefall (edited Aug 5, 2005)
thank you :) it's growing on me too.

ref. used btw. just thought it was too cool to not be reproduced
Renuar (Aug 5, 2005)

"And I love Hip-Hop like Madonna loves di*k!" -DJ Cam (sample)

Pictorial refrence...umm this took me way too long for what it looks like...I tried a little different technique.
I had alot of problems with it (pointing finger/hand especially), and I'm so very impressed by everyone's skill on here, because I sure suck at drawing on the computer. Anyway have a nice day!

this is definitely well done. always room for improvement, but you did very well. it surely 'feels' perfect
davincipoppalag (Aug 6, 2005)
This is actually quite good. That is a hard body position with difficult perspective and you did it really well.
solve (Aug 6, 2005)
oo great warm colors. he looks tan. i think, as well, that you did very good for still being new and picking such a complex pose. youre constantly improving.

Thank you for the support. I really do appreciate it...I'm just still frustrated with it, but what the hell practice is practice.

Bleh, its kinda finished, I got a bit irritated with this I may attempt to finish it properly tommrow, it refuses too work today though... the picture started good with the clouds etc but when I put the back figure in it kinda... was not so good, I tihnk maybe adding the forefront figure was even more of a mistake but... its too late for good judgment :)

I like this picture very much. I agree that it needs more sharpness in places. The places depend upon your intention.. I see the plants as mostly underwater with the water surface being the defining line.. in that case, the plants and grass above the water line need sharpening. If you intended the plants to be in the foreground with the the water as the background, then the whole thing needs sharpening. Hope this makes sense. :-\
kisara (Aug 5, 2005)
thank you all very much *^^* I will work on this some more with what has been stated ^^
oikitsumaru (Aug 5, 2005)
I disagree with davin about the water that is furthur away being the darkest. Its not nessesarily true. Maybe if it were at nighttime. And I also disagree with emma, If you want your focus to be on the plants in the front, that is where you should be more detailed. Not even nessesarily sharpened. The background you can get away with it being more out of focus. And with shading, things closest to the sun should be brighter. Since there isn't anything blocking light.
XD It is really nice, what you have. I think you have a really good feel for backgrounds!
lycene (Aug 5, 2005)
Actually, I don't mind the coloring at all; it's very pretty, and could be more so if it was more defined. Also, I think that it would be much more powerful compositionally if you lowered the horizon line and/or raised the hill in front to make the difference between the two really stand out. I can't do landscapes for beans, but you really have something going here--good luck!

XD Uhhhh...only people who know what Marimite (Maria-sama ga miteru) will understand this...o_o;

I always kid Yumi, (the ponytailed one) that her seour, Sachiko (they spritual sisters in a school they both go to, hence the "onee-sama") always ties her bows tighter, or fixes a coller, and so here...Sachiko is fixing Yumi's scarf. xDDD

Done for my own enjoyment, I was bored <_<
