Yes Sweetcell....thirty one minutes of pure perfection!!
Sweetcell (Mar 11, 2008)
Honey, I'm not trying to be a bitch or a perfectionist but I'm sorry, if your just doodling like this that's what begginer's for. You have pieces that belong here but if your just sketching please put it in begginers. Advanced is Advanced for a reason.

sorry for the overload of art tonight, i'm just in a really productive mood. Here's a hippie and some lyrics that aren't mine.

She with all her female guile
led him helpless down the aisle
she had finally made a conquest

^ I know The White stripes didn't write Conquest themselves, and that they just did a cover of it, but that's where I heard it first so i'm giving them credit instead of going through the trouble of finding the person who actually wrote the song.

The yellow splodge on his jacked is a nice detail.
I like your two latest graphical works...pretty neat style.
Sweetcell (Mar 9, 2008)
I just love your vector art, poster art, whatever you want to call it. It's so refreshing to see. I took advertsing art for 3 years and these kinds of designs would be popular on t-shirts.
QTgillie (Mar 9, 2008)
very nice and stylistic!!
thetailorsdaughter86 (Mar 10, 2008)
i (heart) the white stripes. this is wonderful! that's my favorite line from icky thump for sure. "kick yourself out you're an immigrant too!" extremely graphic. i love it!

I love the brush strokes. Nice style.

yeah! the stokes are lovely, lots of jittery motion feeling. I love to paint colour from a black and white ref.

Thanks, Kathy! =)
Sweetcell (Mar 8, 2008)
I love wolves, they're so beautiful and so is this. My fave of yours by far. Well done Elly.
STARZSHINE (Mar 9, 2008)
Elly I had a Malamute timber wolve mix. His name was Maxx, he had one brown eye and one blue eye, he was the nuttiest dog I ever owned, he thought he was a person. He would sit on our couch with his hiney on the seat and his front paws on the floor. He was that big. He wasn't as tall as a great dane, but he was really long in the torso/abdomen like timber wolves are. When he stood on his hind legs he could put his forepaws on my husband's shoulders and rest his head on my husband's. He is 5'9. When he got to be about 6 months old we were awakened at night with the most unearthly sound, it gave us the willies, and we went to see what it was. It was our Maxx learning to do his wolf howl, omg, it was so funny but really creepy at the same time, lol. He loved to howl for the ladies, for sure. We unfortunately had to give him away when we moved from out of the country because he was too big and too wild. He loved to run and he did hunt. He weighed about 150lbs. He was a big dog, but your pic reminds me so much of him, if your pic had a right blue eye. Thanks for the memories...I miss the crazy boy. He has probably passed on though. His sister was owned by my sister's inlaws they had her till she was 17. An incredible age for a dog.

Looks awesome, almost like a dream
Sweetcell (Mar 8, 2008)
I like this but it looks unfinished. The scribbly lines (especially on the face) look like a preliminary sketch and the thing looks imcomplete.
QTgillie (Mar 8, 2008)
Sweetcell...thanks for the critique but the scribble lines are very close to the ref. pic, did you look at it?
STARZSHINE (Mar 9, 2008)
love this Laura, I may have this same lady, but with a different pose. I just love the Carnivale of Venice, and I have tons of pics that I want to do when I get brave enough, lol. Some are quite intricate and I may just do them a bit at a time. Love the colors and the playfulness this has. One day I would love to go and witness this festival for myself. ah one can only dream, in the meantime we can draw and paint and make us believe we are there...:D

If you look at this one way it's one face looking to our left, another way there's a second partial profile looking at the first face from the left to the right and very close. Looking another time there's a face in the middle looking to the right . I guess I shouldn't have tried all that stuff in the 60s eh?
lori (Mar 9, 2008)
looks like a melting ice sculpture
Sweetcell (Mar 9, 2008)
I got this vision of Metropolis and other old sci-fi shows. Such a cool robot (what I see)
QTgillie (Mar 9, 2008)
this is very unique and well done....the entire concept. LOL....Davinci.....I saw all that stuff also, glad it was not just me!
