Welcome to the new server!

It should be safe to draw now.

There are probably kinks in the new server, so if you see any problems, please let us know!

Thanks!

  icon
UnWanted (Nov 21, 2007)
lol.. Yup.. Revising has been stabbed, beaten and left behind.. it don't work
  icon
marcello (Nov 21, 2007)
ok. we're working on it. will post when we have further success.
  icon
UnWanted (Nov 21, 2007)
Works for me now :") TY Marcello.. TY
  icon

D> I was sad, when I kept going to cellosoft/2draw and getting a little message.

but I'm glad I can see 2draw again :D yay cello!
  icon

impressive move marcello
  icon
marcello (Nov 22, 2007)
ok, fixed some more bugs, but still some issues with old images.
  icon
Sweetcell (Nov 22, 2007)
Is anyone else getting a different looking site? The writings bigger, there are no seperating boxes for all the items (like new posts, comment boxes etc.) and the comment box I'm typing in is small and squat, not long. Did you change the site's appearance Marcello?
  icon
lori (Nov 22, 2007)
that has happened to me, but no
  icon
Sweetcell (Nov 22, 2007)
Then why does the site on my computer look like something from an alternate universe? Seriously everything looks screwed up. It's like that when I go to my home site (I use MSN as my home page) We recently switched from DSL to Cable so I wonder if that's it and the signals arent getting through. It just looks too weird to navigate right now.
  icon
marcello (Nov 22, 2007)
sweetcell: are you loading http://2draw.net/ or something else?
that will only happen if you're loading the wrong page.
  icon
Sweetcell (Nov 22, 2007)
Strange, now it's alright. Before it was like evrything was mixed up, the fonts were huge, there was no seperation on the pages, this comment box was small and there were no partition boxes. I think it may be our new server, I get that from MSN as well like I said, but everythings alright now. Very strange.
  icon
marcello (Nov 22, 2007)
the specific problem is your browser isn't loading the style sheet for the site. on firefox, go to the view menu, click page style and change it to no style, and you should see exactly what you were describing.
as for what causes that to not be loaded, that can vary
  icon
Sweetcell (Nov 22, 2007)
I don't have firefox, I use normal windows.
  icon
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 22, 2007)
Looks all perfect here from both Firefox and Explorer. Glad it worked, Marcy. :)
  icon
Anna (Nov 24, 2007)
lol... "I don't have firefox, I use normal windows."

Anyway, Just wanted to say I like how everything loads faster for me now than before. Yay lello!
  icon
deathking (Nov 24, 2007)
Now the website doesnt automatically log me out anymore after 30 minutes, was that because of the move?
  icon
Saleuski (Nov 24, 2007)
No, it was probably because you checked the 'cookie' box, which automatically signs you on the site when you access it.
  icon
deathking (Nov 24, 2007)
nope i didnt
  icon
marcello (Nov 24, 2007)
Ok, the wiki is back!
  icon
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 24, 2007)
"Normal Windows".... hey, Barb, wanna tell me how to get anything normal around here, I don't have that one. :) (lol with Anna)

Does anyone go to the wiki?
  icon
marcello (Nov 24, 2007)
it's amusing how some people interpret computers.
sweetcell: you'd do yourself a favor to try firefox, 2draw runs better
  icon
Sweetcell (Nov 26, 2007)
I tried Firefox, didn't like it.
  icon
staci (Nov 26, 2007)
?

the only difference is it doesnt suck.
  icon
Dr.Moony (edited Nov 27, 2007)
Not really on topic...maybe...
I can't submit my painting. I click on submit and Lascaux gives me this:
Error submitting image:

Internal error: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission 72.47.197.60:80 connect, resolve)
Does anyone else experience this too?

edit: Tested it on other applets. It's the same problem.
  icon
marcello (Nov 27, 2007)
what browser, operating system, and version of java?
  icon
Dr.Moony (edited Nov 27, 2007)
Firefox/2.0.0.10
Win XP SP2
Java Plug-in 1.6.0_03
JRE-Version 1.6.0_03

Haven't restarted Firefox because I don't want to lose my painting.
edit: I guess Firefox or the Java plugin is fucked up...uploading works with IE7. Any way to save my work for 2Draw submission?
  icon
Anna (edited Nov 27, 2007)
I believe if you have a screenshot of it, Marcello can get it up. Or at least that's what I remember him mentioning on several occasions.

Edit: Oh and I can't revise my images. (Are you still having issues with older images' revisions, lello? Cuz this one IS rather old.) :( Says there's an error loading the image.
  icon
marcello (Nov 27, 2007)
moony: I can do the screenshot thing if necessary. submit a blank version and send me a png to replace it.

loading and submitting are separate issues. your problem anna is solved by going to the java option in your control panel, and deleting your temporary internet files. if that doesn't work, let me know.
  icon
Anna (Nov 27, 2007)
:-/ No, still didn't work. Deleted the temp files in Java and then restarted Firefox and still gave me the error when trying to load it for revision.
  icon
marcello (Nov 27, 2007)
anna: what image is it?
  icon
Anna (edited Nov 28, 2007)
http://2draw.net/view/87885/

Edit: And outta curiosity, I tried revising my most recent submission and it gave me the same error.
Edit 2: Submitted a test image and tried revising, and it worked fine. Maybe only images before the move aren't able to be revised?
  icon
marcello (Nov 28, 2007)
yea, we're still transferring stuff. almost done though.
  icon
Axil62 (Nov 28, 2007)
Hey, my pussy stinks.
  icon
Anna (Nov 28, 2007)
@marcello: alright. just making sure it's not just me or something. thx
  icon
lori (edited Nov 29, 2007)
lol Axil, if you're referring to that 18+ pic, I meant most women really I don't think bother to give themselves a check down there, they go to the dr.... I do anyway.
Dr.s can be good ya know, I'm still here and that is amazing.
  icon
Axil62 (Nov 29, 2007)
wrong
  icon
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 29, 2007)
I had both revision loading and submission problems with two paintings that were both started after the server move, the first one I lost completely. Doesn't matter if I use Explorer or Firefox, used both.
  icon
Anna (Nov 29, 2007)
:( sucks, huh? and that's cuz i was really in the mood to draw here yesterday.
  icon
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 29, 2007)
Yeah, it totally sucks. I haven't been inspired to paint anything in a long time, and I really want to finish the one I'm working on, but I'm afraid it'll just get lost. I'm reluctant to complain, because Marcello works so hard at making things right for all of us, with no return... but HEY, MARCY!!!!!!!! fix this shit, wouldja? :)
  icon
marcello (Nov 29, 2007)
nothing will be lost.
  icon
Dr.Moony (edited Nov 30, 2007)
Ok...did some testing. Uploading my paintings(all applets) or starting Shi-Painter with Firefox does not work at all anymore ... but with IE7 it's fine.
  icon
marcello (Nov 30, 2007)
can you test again?
  icon
Dr.Moony (Nov 30, 2007)
still does not work...
  icon
Anna (Dec 1, 2007)
Yay! I'm able to revise again! :D Thanks!
  icon
marcello (edited Dec 1, 2007)
yay. everything should be transferred now! just going to do a couple final scans to make sure everything is there.
final scans seem to indicate everything is successful. be sure to post if there are any issues:

dr.moony: I am led to believe that is something wrong on your end. if you're getting that socket permission error, it might mean there is something wrong with your internets. for example, maybe java isn't running correctly, or your dns is resolving 2draw.net incorrectly. or perhaps, are you behind a proxy by any chance?
  icon
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Dec 1, 2007)
dr. moony: I'm led to believe that if there's something wrong with your end, it's more likely the wrenches and not the sockets, and it also might mean there's something wrong with your butterflynets. Or perhaps you should just take your laptop to Starbucks for java...Then again, if it's your dnA that is unresolved, there's little you can do about it. You could always just hook up with a chick named Roxy (not necessarily behind her, like you are with the proxy thing, but that might work, too.) :)
  icon
Dr.Moony (Dec 1, 2007)
@Marcello: I reinstalled Firefox...it works now. Could you still manually upload that one painting I asked you for?(memo)

@dba: lol .. I did read your post before marcellos. It freaked me out.
  icon
Anna (Dec 2, 2007)
Yay, Moony! Glad it works for you now too. :)

lmao @ Cindy :D too funny
  icon
marcello (Dec 2, 2007)
dr.moony: eventually, give me some time
  icon

I miss it

the animation is not gone.

uh oh marcello.. just had an error while trying to submit an image from lascaux

and it goes as follows: "PHP error 2: fsockopen()[<a href='function.fsockopen</a>] php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: name or service not known
On line 138 in socket.php"

.. fix it

also make the contest board page not tell me
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 524288) (tried to allocate 19456 bytes) in /var/www/vhosts/2draw.net/httpdocs/module/site/index.php on line 53
every time I try going there today plzzzz~

actually it seems it's random pages doing it randomly, with different numbers/lines/locations. Something like that.

Pantera (Jan 9, 2008)
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 1310720) (tried to allocate 4864 bytes) in /usr/local/lib/php/PEAR.php on line 953

thi sis what I have been getting for weeks now, got in now but am not able to draw :(

Help us cello!
  icon
marcello (Jan 9, 2008)
unwanted: you fix it.
shanghai/pantera: tweaked some things to hopefully avoid this happening as frequently. looks like we might need to buy more ram for the server though (which will roughly double the cost of the server, unfortunately)

Aieeeee.. CONTRIBUTIONS NEEDED..EVERYONE!!
  icon
enjoydotcom (edited Jan 9, 2008)
I contributed a while ago, but I'm willing to do it again. Don't want to say I panicked when I found out I couldn't open 2draw, but I have to because I sent a message to Dave asking if he could get on ghe ghe.
  icon
Silvair (Feb 2, 2008)
Er... I think I'm experiencing the same problem as Dr.Moony was, with the

Error submitting image:
Internal error: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission 72.47.197.60:80 connect, resolve)
except I'm using IE7, not firefox, and getting this message. (In firefox, the applet doesn't load at all)
Soo... do I have to reinstall things.. like Java and internet explorer? (Sorry, not computer savvy at all eheh...)
  icon
Sweetcell (Feb 2, 2008)
Silvair I've been getting tht error for months now. I can't draw on Shi or BBS on any Oekaki site. The only program that works for me now is Lascaux. Going to the Java site and looking around I found out it may be a bug in the latest Java software and there's a patch to fix it, but I still need to look around and drop off aquestion to the experts before I know for sure.
  icon
Silvair (edited Feb 2, 2008)
Hmm that's intriguing, because this is the only site I can't send a picture at is here. I've been oekaki board-hopping all day today, and none of them (so far) have given me any issues.

Well.. damn. I musta jinxed that one. Yep, can't send on all sites either.
  icon
Sweetcell (Feb 2, 2008)
Java.net has all the error/troubleshoot problems and this was one of them. I'll look around and see if I can find the troubleshoot for this one.

Pissy you can't draw anywhere else. First time Java put out a bad program.
  icon
marcello (Feb 3, 2008)
I did a little more digging.
Here's the bug on sun's site: http://bugs.sun.com/view_bug.do?bug_id=6460815

So a couple things to try.

First try downloading Java 1.6 update 4 (which is not available on java.com):
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp (scroll down and select "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 4")

Uninstall your old java, reboot, install this one, and try it.

If that doesn't work, you can try downgrading to version 6 update 2. To do this download the JRE 6u2 here:
http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/6u2/index.html

Uninstall your old java, reboot, install this one, and try it.

Report back!
  icon
cyclops (Feb 3, 2008)
first one (JRE 6u4) didnt work for me ....second one (JRE 6u2)is working
thanks Marcello
  icon
Silvair (Feb 3, 2008)
Hmm.. it's weird for me because I already seem to have like 5 versions of Java on my cpu... (version 6 update 2 included)
Anyway, I guess I'll just use netscape when drawing @ 2draw, since the applet loads/sends with netscape just peachy.
  icon
Sweetcell (Feb 3, 2008)
Great to know Marcello, thank you. I was looking around their site for 1.6 (which I believe is more a patch) but I couldn't find it. I'll get to trying these.

When I was reading the how to's they said NOT to get rid of all your older versions of Java, yet like Silvair I have tons of them. Is it save to get rid of all of them Cello and just load this new one? Looking to you computer person.
  icon
DoOp (edited Feb 3, 2008)
I got rid of everything o_o , and i got the JRE 6u2 and now the oekakies work on here<-- (reporting back to marcello o: )
  icon
Sweetcell (Feb 3, 2008)
Oh Do0p thank you. When you get info from 12 different places it's hard to know what's what. Gonna go do that.
  icon
marcello (Feb 3, 2008)
It's safe to remove all copies of java, then install the one you want. In fact, I recommend it.

I would like more confirmations that 1.6u4 does NOT help, as well as 1.6u2 helping, as it might give us a chance to make the bug a higher priority.
  icon
Sweetcell (Feb 5, 2008)
Well before I remove any of my Java I want to know if any of these should stay. I'm a complete computer illiterate so I'll describe the icons since I have so many types of versions (9 altogether)

A single coffee cup icon: J2SE Runtime Environemnt 5.0 Update 10, 11, 3, 6, and 9

A small computer screen with a disc: Java 2 Environment SE v 1.4.2

Coffee cup in a square: Java (TM) 6 Update 2 and 3 and (TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

So, can I safely remove all of these or is there something I should keep?
  icon
marcello (Feb 5, 2008)
yes. get rid of all of them and then do what I said above.
  icon
Sweetcell (Feb 5, 2008)
Thank you so much Cello. I wanted to make sure before I accidentally remove something I might need. *le sigh*
  icon
Silvair (Feb 6, 2008)
Uh hey, just wanted to say that I had just the update 4 didn't work for me either, but update 2 did. Thank you Marcello!
  icon
Sweetcell (edited Feb 6, 2008)
Yup, I did the update 4 and nothing. Scow works fine, I can send in Scow, but not Shi. Gonna have'ta go back to 2. They should work on that bug.

EDIT: Send word to Java Sun Marcello, 6.4 has a bug in it. Or those after 6.2. I downloaded the older version and tried on another oekaki site AND IT SENT! I can use Shi and BBS again. I am a friggen happy camper.
  icon
marcello (Feb 6, 2008)
Ok thanks. I guess that answers that.
  icon
Miss_DJ (Feb 13, 2008)
oh good...it alll wasn't just in my head.

I can't get an image when I go to an unfinished one on 2drawstudio!! Argghh!! All I get is a blank screen. I can't finish my contest entry!!!
  icon

that should be fixed now.
  icon
Cameo (Feb 23, 2008)
It is, thanks Marcello!!! (I am happy again) ;o)

psycospaz (Feb 25, 2008)
Hi, I am new here and I hope this is the right place. Last friday I could draw and everything, however I didn't save anything doodles I did... anyway today I come in and get a big red X on ALL the applets, and only for this site, regretably I am using IE 6 and can't upgrade my browser and I am using Java V 6 update 10 (build 1.6.0_10-ea-b11) [I can update this though!], but I have tried everything writen above about Java and now I am getting this:
"Applet status: error: Incompatible magic value 1013478509 in class file cello/lascaux/lascaux.
java.lang.ClassFormatError: Incompatible magic value 1013478509 in class file cello/lascaux/lascaux

Other applets on other sites work fine, but I wanna use YOURS it is so much spiffyier and nifty and I am in love... but now it doesn't work. Please let me know what I need to do to fix it!

psycospaz: that's a beta version of java, can you try installing a non-beta version from www.java.com?

Lemme try.
