Linus sitting on a mound of dirt for no apparent reason.

I'm still annoyed at how long this took. This time last year, this image would have been done in 2 hours at most >:[.

Sorry for bumping this ><;;. I forgot to uncheck the update stage something box...

Linus is almost bald

Edit: He's also only about 2 1/2 heads tall.
cianteed2 (Aug 16, 2006)
I love style cross-overs!
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Aug 16, 2006)
Yeah, and I think you should paint Peppermint Pattie's mother talking to Charlie Brown's mother, since we all know for sure what they look like, and be sure to include the whaaa whaa wha, whaaa whaaa bubbles with the shoes in them.
broken-lock14 (Aug 16, 2006)
Ahhh, this makes me so happy. D: <3333 Thumbsucking~ And the blankie. 8D

I can really imagine light brown hair, moreso than black. Butbut, black makes sense. :o

*clapclap for thisss*
woah_pockster (Aug 17, 2006)
this is loking insane so far.
I love it.
Silvair (Aug 17, 2006)
Linus may appear to be balding in the comic/show, but if Charles Schulz has confirmed that the seemingly bald Charlie Brown indeed has hair, I really can't imagine how Linus could not have hair. Apparently the swirl in the front of Charlie Brown's head is not a deformity.

2 1/2 heads would probably make him a super-deformed 'chibi', which I'm not so keen on doing.

Thanks for your comments so far :).

Ahh Linus is my favorite! This is waaay too cute for words D:
I do love everything about this, but I have to say, the highlights on the hair and the folds on the blanket are my favorite parts.
Axil62 (edited Aug 17, 2006)
Yes, he (Linus) does have hair.... 7 of them. When Mr Schulz wanted his characters to have hair, he gave it to them, Lucy, Peppermint patty, Marci, Schroeder...etc etc. Unless I'm mistaken, the idea was to get the Anime style to look like the person or character you chose. This is a nice clean drawing, to be sure, but it looks nothing like Linus.

Thanks for your replies so far :).

I agree with axil, although it's probably worth noting for the record that if japan made an anime out of peanuts, the characters would probably look like this, and nothing like the original other than clothes/props.
frootcake (Aug 18, 2006)
i like the grass and the cloud.

Congratulations Silvair! "Linus-Peanuts" is awarded first place for Contest Week 25: Make It Anime. Silvair's entry is a great take on a classic animated character, Linus from Charles Schultz, "Peanuts". Although he is barely recognizable as the original Linus from Peanuts, this entry is exemplary of making a non-anime character into an anime character. There are many hallmark anime details in this piece and this entry is easily recognizable as anime. The entire piece is well executed, from the line work, to the coloring and the background. Well done Silvair.
