DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 13, 2005)
A collage of different things that are in the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame in Waco
(Subtract 11 hours from the clock, something weird happened in one of the revisions)

************
She was a girl on a wagon train
Headed west across the plains
The train got lost in a summer storm
They couldn't move west and they couldn't go home
Then she saw him ridin' through the rain
He took charge of the wagons and he saved the train
She looked down and her heart was gone
The train went west but she stayed on

DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Nov 14, 2005)

A farmer's daughter with a gentle hand
A blooming rose in a bed of sand
She loved the man who wore a star
A Texas Ranger known near and far
So they got married and they had a child
But times were tough and the West was wild
So it was no surprise the day she learned
That her Texas man would not return

Back to back with the Rio Grande
A Christian woman in the devil's land
She learned the language and she learned to fight
But she never learned how to beat the lonely nights

i dig that revolver to the maxxxxx. the thing that caught my the most though is the gritty/speckled texture work. i associate with something mucho favored so it makes me happy :D

as always you create another brillaint piece of realism, youre talented beyond words.
Anna (Nov 15, 2005)
Soooo wonderful! It's crisp, clean. The textures are fantastic. The composition is lovely. Dan put it well... Exceptional work! <3 Cindy!!!!!

looking through your userboard. you had plateaued. seems you're on another learning curve. funny how someone as accomplished as yourself keeps changed, adapting, and learning. really liking the texture.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 15, 2005)
Thank you so much for noticing that, nobody. I feel like no matter how much I do, or how accomplished I become at something, there is always so much to learn, and so much room for growth. During the learning curve sometimes the quality suffers, but the outcome is always beneficial. This site has taken me leaps and bounds beyond what I could have ever done without it, (and by this site I mean all of the artists here) Thanks Anna! :)
nobody (Nov 15, 2005)
you're welcome.

i like how you use lyrics too. good songs. my speakers are currenty blasting mud on the tires.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 15, 2005)
hah! Love that song... actually did that as soon as I got my new truck last year. :) (funny thing is, I don't try to use lyrics, sometimes while I'm painting I happen to hear a song I really like that just fits... I was listening to an older Garth Brooks cd when I started this one, and the song just fit.)
nobody (Nov 15, 2005)
he got a little weird what with the whole wife ordeal and the movie he was supposed to do. but i'm glad he came out of retirement. he is a truly wonderful performer.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 15, 2005)
Yeah, I think Chris LeDoux's death pulled him out... and Trisha is a HOMEWRECKER!! a fat, ugly, homewrecker!!!! I saw Garth a couple of times in Waco in really small places before he was well known (I'm good at spotting them before they get famous... ;) and heard him sing from a few feet away with no instruments, no back up... the man is so talented. Anway, he's really one of the good ole' boys, so I guess we have to forgive him.
nobody (Nov 15, 2005)
haha, but he was a military kid. not even a cowboy? but yes, pull your hat down tight and just LeDoux it for sure.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Nov 15, 2005)
He's a cowboy, too. I know this for a FACT. :)
edit: yeah, speaking of cowboys... gotta LeDoux it!
nobody (Nov 15, 2005)
alright. heh.
Miss_DJ (Nov 15, 2005)
always amazing...always great! This is such a doozy Cindy..wow. I can feel the weight of the gun and bullets just looking at them. I'd say you hit a bullseye with this piece.

DarkCloak (Nov 19, 2005)
This is a beauty! I love guns, and I love your western themed artwork. It really drives me to want to make an attempt realism.
Renuar (Dec 12, 2005)
