This is just TERRIBLE, Anna! My tomato was WAY WAY BETTER. LMFAO! :D This is possibly the very best still life of a piece of fruit I have ever seen, actually. I love it. I need a real painting like this to hang in my kitchen or something.
Definitely improving with your realism. The stem looks a bit plastic-like (can't put my finger on just why that is...sorry I can't be of help there :( ), but the tomato itself is VERY well done. You've got the core shadow, the reflected light, and texture all down. The water drops are looking nice too :).
Edit:Oh hey, you just submitted the last version before I submitted this comment, and that shadow you added in below the leaves really enhanced the stem too.I think that was the problem....good work :).
That looks good enough to be an English tomato! Huge compliment, as there's no tomato on earth that smells and tastes as good as an English tomato (poo, DBA can't get me, she's over there) ... and there's no strawberry as good as an English strawberry either, can I put in an order?
Stunning work Anna! This is the kind of thing I only wish I could approach..wonderful. (Flops..you need to come to the US during the late summer, and have a New Jersey Ramapo Red Tomato..trust me..THAT is the ONLY tomato in the world.)
No, Poppa, I have been to the US and eaten what passes as a tomato there but a true English tomato, picked off the vine, with a stem smelling like cat's pee ... there's no taste as good as that. The tomato that is, not the cat's pee. And proper English apples! Oh my. That overblown stuff you call fruit? Tastes like cardboard on a bad day. :) ./me ducks and hides
This tomato is so fresh and real, I am trying to bite my screen... I like tomatos, they are so juicy and refreshing. I prefer when they do not put salt on them, they have such a sweet taste of their own. Great realistic drawing Anna, you and Cindy draw the best paintings... they are not just realistic, they are also so colourful and alive. Excellent drawing! >:D

Your realism pics are stunning, Anna. Very crisp and very gorgeous. I love how you draw things larger than life. Must be a bit of Texas showing through. :)
Marry me !! your tomato looks very good but very plasticy <--- definely not a word but meaning like plastic. the shading is off the hook <-- means outstandng and good. great picture Marry Me !!
Its great, but I look at the stem, and it seems like a plastic stem to me;too realistic?out of a Parker Seeds catalog?oops, someone else sees plastic stem?wierd.Well, now that you can do such "neo-realism",we dare you to try;classical, old fashioned Dutch or "15th Century Flemish painting"realism of a tomato in still life. You know, dark and light,sharpness,Dutch-type lighting,(look at all those classical still lifes).Put the golden glaze over it all,so the highlights jump out at you.You can do it,if you can do this.I personally would like to see you try that, cause youre so good.(or has she done that already?)but it's really great.
