You don't have to answer this if you don't want to, but, how many people here use their mouse for drawing? (I know I do..and it's quite difficult. -_-) Or do you use another type of apparatus? I'm just curious. :)

We did this in the forums once, awhile back. But.. I use an Aiptek Tablet. Drawing with a mouse is hard for me and my wrist hurts. However, quite a number of the best artists here (Aubrey for one..see Dream Car!) use a mouse, and it boggles my mind how they do it.

i used to draw with a mouse and be ok at it, but using a tablet is so much easier for me...to use a mouse again would be like trying to draw with a brick just to prove you can.

wacom graphire 2. except its stuck in mouse mode and my computer wont let me install software. so its really annoying right now. (not that i have time to draw anyways but shh)

I had a tablet for a bout 6 months but other than that I use mouse.

For the most part, I use MS Paint. I'm not sure if this qualifies as mouse drawings...

i use a graphire 3...i used to draw with a mouse it sucked, i love my WACOM.

Actually I think for coloring purposes, an optical mouse is much easier.But then tablets have an advantage in line art so....you win some, you lose some.

-Oh, and yeah, I have a tablet but I never use it cause I'm too used to drawing with my optical mouse^^;.(I don't think drawing with a mouse is any more impressive recently, but that's just me)

sketching is much easier with a tablet. coloring is much easier with a tablet, since you can control the brush size with the pressure and get into tiny spaces, or control flow and get nice smooth shading. lineart is a tossup, arguably easier with a mouse, but I dunno anymore.

one thing is for sure. tablets don't make you ANY better. you have to be a good artist to start with, and you can be a good artist with a mouse just as well as with a tablet. tablets just make you faster. and perhaps delay carpel tunnel syndrome..

I need to get me one of those... what do you call them?... tablets. Yeah. Where'd ya buy one o' dem d'ere contraptions? As of now... I'm using a... hm, I don't know what you call it. It's not a mouse (I'm not that stupid). It's stationary, and I move the ball with my thumb. Try drawing with one of those! Trackman! That's the word! Yes... I'm surprised my work is even half decent!

Also... what price range are we talking about for all these different tablet? I'm in high school. My budget is... free, if possible. And what kind of differences are there between each respective tablets? What are the options? What kind would I want to get? give me the lowdown here.

Dude, I've tried it and it sorta sucks lol. Mouse or tablet is better (but I've never tried a tablet... it's easier, isn't it?) Anyhow, go mousies!!! lol

i hava laptop, and for the first id say ten draws used the little fingerpad on the laptop...can we say frustrating?? very...

oh god, i tried a trackball at my grandparents house. kill me, kill me now. I use a mouse... blasted little peice of rubbish. whats funny is that i do have a tablet but the pen is broken... yeah yeah~ i know i can get a new one but for now im saving up for sims 2 baby! ^_-

Yes, I hate using this trackball thingy very much. I mean come on! My thumb's not that coordinated to draw a reasonably straight line or a curve the way I want it! That's why my work sucks all the time. lol. Got to add a Graphire3 6x8 to my shopping list...

I use a mouse. I've been drawing with a mouse for years, I think I'll stick with it.

I use mostly my Wacom. I do also, use my mouse and trackball. Depends on what I'm drawing. Still, I prefer the Wacom. = )

how do u people use mice to draw?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!? how odd..... i know someone who can use a pen thats hooked up to his comp that he draw with that but he isn't into drawing.
