This is coming out really good totally worth all the effort you've put into it. I'm glad you're getting better at this online drawing thing. even though i may whine when i have to get off the phone with you hehe.... Love ya babe
Um, I can't really help you with the hair too much since you need a "feel" for that kinda thing.But uh, I did want to point out some touch ups for further improvement on the face.His right eye is open too wide by just a little bit, and you should try bringing the eyelid down just a tad more(especially right over his pupil).Also on his right eye, if you look at the ref carefully, you'll see part of the whites of the eye appear under the iris (like just a line worth of white).One last thing is you shouldn't be afraid to bring out his eyebrow more.Right now, it almost appears as if he has shaved it off and you don't want that.In the reference, you can at least make out some of the eyebrow over the right side of his right eye.Of course this is all to try and make it look as best as possible :) (btw, if I give you critiques like this, it usually means I really like it so it's a good sign ;) ).Looking good and good luck with the completion.
-I was looking at this some more compared to the ref and I found couple more areas you could attempt touch ups on.Let's see, starting with the nose.You see on the right hand side of the nose (yes, your right) where you made it light pink?You can change that to white cause that's how bright the lighting is, there.Also you can try moving his eyes in towards the nose just a tad.Right now they seem kinda far from the nose, but that may be just an illusion from not being able to see the brows.So draw the brows in first, then see how it looks and adjust accordingly.
medium flow and medium opacity for hair..start with the darker "inside" shadows of the hair and build up to highlights..watch animations on other drawings for tips..like gigandas' legolas picture is a good one, although he used shi painter so its a little different but you can get an idea of how he worked it
Well, the collar smoothing would be hard to describe...all I can say is study the texture carefully and then reproduce what you see.I was wondering if you started up on this again, and ya did :).It's starting to look friggin awesome.Hope to see it done soon...

This is Dante' right? I did a full body picture of him on another Oekaki site, 5 hours painting, painting. Then the program decided to shit on it and I lost it. *sigh*
