Lori....I think you've found your true strength.....landscaping :).Man, this is incredible.....plus what davinci said XD.Looking GREAT so far....can't wait to see what you'll do to it >.<....
This is lovely, Lori. The picture is only started and there's already great depth to it. Such beautiful blue mountains. I think Dave's right. *hold breath until the finish*
It's great you can see where the sun hits the mountains and the rest is left blue... and the sky is beauteeful... and if that's a field with tiny flowers that'll take forever and a DAY lol.. but like everyone says.. this is already quickly becoming a masterpiece of yours. Good luck :)
thanks all! the sky is not done either... but that's what I really like about landscapes, I can jump around and do which ever section I want for a nice change of pace... I'm having fun... and yes, Aubs, this field is gonna be a killer... but so worth it...thanks so much for the comments ;)
sky is done(well, might add a little more light to the right hand side of it), and good thing the flowers get bigger as they come toward the 'front' of the picture... whew!
I must be crazy for even trying this.... it maketh me mental!

God is it tempting to put water in this empty space here.... but I think it'll be so much prettier if I finish all these stinkin' flowers!
This isn't vibrant enough.... what am I doing wrong?
Nope, you didn't mess anything up from v7 to v8, overall the mountains are better, except that one brown shadow on the right would be better with the current version if you lighten it just a little bit and make it more consistent with the rest of the mountain. That's the only thing... this is looking great.
It is vibrant enough so far, the distant things should be more muted in color, and then as you work towards the foreground, go ahead and brighten things gradually... it helps to bring things forward and give it depth. I just looked through your gallery... I miss so much stuff, I don't see how, as much time as I spend here! You have done quite a few good things.. keep it up!
lol Lori... I never had formal art school. My grandmother and one of my Aunts taught me most of what I know. I learned a little bit from private art lessons from a couple of half way decent artists when I was a kid, but other than that it's just what I learned from studying books and years and years of painting. There are lots of other ppl here that are way smarter than I about it, but I'm glad if I helped you at all. :) (To tell you the truth, I think I have learned tons here just from watching and listening to advice from all of the talented ppl that draw here. This place is really great for learning)
Keep at it Lori..it's still beautiful! Patience is not my long suit either, but if you do it each time until you're tired and then stop and come back to it, it will come out great.!

I made one kinda.. sorta.. just a teensy bit like it. But only way it's like it is because it has.. Bottle Brush.
Which I love.
'Think there's so pretty.
Wonderful wonderful! Mucho realistic and so very light and airy.
Almost feels like I'm standing there.
