This is also my favorite of yours so far. Not too sharp. A nice, soft war painting. (lol) Love the way you have the smoke billowing. :)

wow, this is pretty awesome. you should do a series like this. :-)
only suggestion would be to add some brighter sunlight, on the planes, and perhaps on the ground itself between cloud shadows... just a touch of contrast should make a big difference, whether it's positive or not, you'll have to experiment to find out :)

LOL! I knew that would getcha! It does need a little more defining, which is what Marcello's suggestion would do to it, if you feel like playing with it. But I still like it either way. Even after you define it, it'll be kind of soft...(paintings can be soft and defined at the same time) I think it's the colors and the smoke. :D

yeah I've learned that contrast adds a lot. Chiaroscuros are very powerful. But still, I don't do it either, and I really really really like this picture. Like, really. So now, davincipoppalag, give us your secrets! :)

You didn't screw it up, the planes are better, but I don't think making the grass brighter was a good idea. Do you have room (energy) lol to put the grass back darker? I think it makes the grass jump out atcha too much, kind of takes away the depth of the picture.

the grass looks fine to me... I can't really think of any specific improvements (being exhausted doesn't help), looks good.

i agree that if just the bright grass was subtracted then it would be betta. but still a good jobber.

Thanks for all the nice words...and the help! I believe its done?<he says with trepidation.... I made the grass darker again..(with some treeline kinda thingies enhanced a bit... Thear that closer plane is the North American P38 Lightning... one of my favorites..

There, that's the stuff! The right stuff! It's great now. The planes are more defined and stay in the foreground, and the landscape recedes as it should. You're pretty "sharp" for an old feller. lol

This is awesome, poppasweetie. Really get the feeling we're up there in the air.. the ground is far below. The planes are great and I like the smoke. I'm gonna replace the P51 with this one now.

Noremac.. aviation combat tactics always taught pilots to try to attack from out of the sun where the other pilot couldnt see you..hence the title...

p-38's are my favorit war bird of ww2. Mostlu becuse of how strange they looked compared to normal planes. Awsome land and planes!
