Axil62 (Feb 22, 2004)
You are such a trip sometimes.

Gigandas (Feb 22, 2004)
Wow....very nice^^.Nice car and a nice drawing of it.The best job I see you did in drawing some metal on this car has to be the front wheel hub cap(Just wanted to point that out for some reason XD).The headlights also look very cool. The dusty and sandy ground it's on also has a great feel to it^^.
fleeting_memory (Feb 22, 2004)
very nice but 56's are so much better-57's are too common and 55's are too old. 56 Chevy Bel air baby-sea foam green-parked in my driveway heck yeah-DBA you rock
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 22, 2004)
Yeah, fleeting, that's why I gotta '56 Nassau blue and white all nice and shiny parked in my driveway ready to blow teenage boys off the road. :D
strangeoid (Feb 22, 2004)
I prefer the 57's myself, but all the BelAirs are marvelous. They were the epitome of car-style. Unfortunately, I can only dream of owning one. :( Oh, well. Maybe someday.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 22, 2004)
Dream on until it happens, I used to think I'd never have one, either. Dreams really do come true....lalala. :)
-simulacra- (Feb 23, 2004)
Good job, but it looks so flat. all your pictures really do seem very flat...why is this?
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 23, 2004)
Could be alot of things, sim, bad perspective techniques make things flat, I dunno....you figure it out and tell me and I'll try to fix it. :)
foxman8245 (Feb 24, 2004)
very nice !! I like them oldee vehicles!! looks very nice!!
-simulacra- (Feb 25, 2004)
Lack of layers (?), pastelly, dusty colours used, and the lack of sharp definition?
-simulacra- (Feb 26, 2004)
No need to apologise, other artists don't apologise if someone doesn't like their work (Tracy Emin!). Saying that this picture appears flat and dusty because it's an old car, sitting in dust, is a fair excuse..but surely not all your pictures are in the dust? I'm simply saying that I think your pics would look better if they didn't have that dull and completely washed look. Oh, and a little birdie tells me that there was an earlier version of your reply, something a little nasty, even..why change it? Don't be scared, say what you think for once.
-simulacra- (Feb 27, 2004)
Read what i said, DBA, other artists don't apologise if someone doesn't like their work...I'm perfectly aware of what you said. 'Just the truth, but a little harsh', exactly what my comment on pix's photocopy was. I'm not 'popping on here to annoy' you, I'm trying to offer advice on how to make your bland drawings look a little better. 'I usually take advice from those who have a clue what's going on'...Sigh. It's like the whole 'Just because I'm fat doesn't mean you aren't'. Just because my current drawings suck, doesn't mean that A) I'm blind and B) my opinion has no worth. I am, in fact, 16, and you can shove your 'some of them are actually mature acting' opinion up your arse. You have simply no idea DBA..no idea. Go shoot arrows at your angel daughter or something..
method3 (Feb 27, 2004)
Hrm... I don't follow the comment about this being flat. I mean in particular that the glass and open window areas certainly give the car enough depth as it is. The shading on the car is a bit fuzzy, but you get the idea that it's a 3 dimensional car easily enough. Layers don't automatically give you depth at all either. The colors I've come to expect as just part of the style, a nice style at that.

Above comments need to be moved off of the comments for this picture. Take the conversation (debate?) somewhere else...
-simulacra- (Feb 27, 2004)
I'm not entirely sure how this turned into a debate, I said what i thought about the picture, tried to give advice on how to change it, then it turns into a cat fight. How?
leola (Feb 28, 2004)
Simularca I don't think you should voice your opinions, because your drawings do suck. I really don't think anyone is going to take advice from a "know it all" 16 year old. Since you don't have any friends and are a loser you could spend alot more time working on your drawings and making them decent. You don't appear to be mature because anytime anyone does any really good artwork you nit pick at it. Most likely becuase your jealous! I don't understand why you draw when you suck. I don't draw because I know I'm no good at it. And as for the comment about DBA simply having no idea....I think she has way more of an idea than you. She is 24 years older than you.
-simulacra- (edited Feb 28, 2004)
Since you don't have any friends and are a loser ...and I'M the immature one? *mumbles* Nice to see your daughter has come to your rescue. It was a well written, very well thought out response, and of course, all of it is completely true. You have done a fantastic job of raising such a mature little angel. Well done.
marcello (Feb 28, 2004)
people, use email, people.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Feb 28, 2004)
lol @ Marcello. You kiddos don't want me to come over there with a switch, do ya? (And I'm only 23 yrs older than him - don't push it.) Yes, Sim, she is an angel and I'm sure your Mom is proud of you, too.
dixielandcutie (Mar 4, 2004)
lol, at all of you. sim...washed and and flat? omg. put on your glasses man. its a style, and i happen to like it a lot. and yea, her daughters pretty darn cool too ;p
Cordelia_Pink (Jul 11, 2004)
Ohhh, very nice. lol Although I'm not very fond of cars (well, I'd like to have one but don't really care about the brands) this is a pretty well drawn out car lol even though it looks old lol j/k Anyhow I like some of your work. They're really getting better. =) GJ
