welcome! he looks like he should be by a lake or one of those beaches with all the plants...somewhere w/flowers or something. i dunno. this is nice tho. it has a summery feeling to it for some reason.

I couldent think of a very good background.. @@ so I just did this...I think it turned out ok~

Mabye you should try making the lineart a little less harsh.
