Aww. I love sock-skating. But it works best when you are wearing my uberfuzzy blue socks.
Noremac (Feb 8, 2004)

Look (Jan 31, 2004)
It looks like an old movie. Awesome! I can't believe you have the patience of drawing it in 9 hours. But it's all worth it
laurael (Jan 31, 2004)
I bet the real paintings you've done are fantastic. I'd buy your paintings any day...love the dark style of them. This would look great in a room with a pool table, old western art...yeah...
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 31, 2004)
Thanks, Laurael. My real ones I think are a bit better than here because I'm so new to doing this on the computer, but I sometimes wish some of them didn't turn out so dark. It's usually not consciously intentional - maybe it's just my mood at the time ;).
Gigandas (Feb 1, 2004)
Once again, great job.Unlike me, you weren't like "Eh, I drew the main person and I'm too lazy to draw another person in the picture so uh....I'm just gonna leave it the way it is..."^^;.You did a good job of bringing out the main focus, I'm impressed. |

I'm trying to learn lascaux sketch. It seems pretty good so far. >.<
marcello (Jan 30, 2004)
only thing I can say is, contrast?Erm...tried to add more contrast. D: Oh, and thanks for the comments. :)
Axil62 (edited Jan 31, 2004)
You did a great job lucy. Darker darks, careful where you place them (the eye follows them through the pic so try to get the eye to move from upper left down through the pic with them) and distinguish the background by pushing it back a little (things in the distance get less detailed and grayer, in this case probably a tad darker and less focused) The only other thing is the symmetrical face. Faces are not really symmetrical. If you look at a photo of most anyone straight on you can cover half the face with your hand or a piece of paper or whatever, take a good look, then cover take your hand or the piece of paper and move it to the other side of the face and take a good look at the other half of the face. You'll find that the eyes are not identical and the other features are a little different from one half of the face to the other. Of course you might be doing the symmetrical thing on this panting on purpose for an effect, I don't know for sure, I'm not there. Good job.
lucy_430 (Jan 31, 2004)
Hmm...I see. Thanks, I'll be sure to keep all that in mind for furture drawings. :) |

I wanted to do something in the same style as gusiLuNg... so here it is. Somehow he gets these great details and depth with just some vague ghostly shapes. A tribute I guess you could say.
Darknightstar (Jan 28, 2004)
Very kewl....it looks good.... The eyes give it a lost look to it, like it is a view of a lost soul. *looks back at it..pauses*..It is very kewl. Keep up the amazing work.
Look (Jan 28, 2004)
That's really cool. How do you do all the dots? It looks just great
method3 (Feb 24, 2004)
Just saw the comment about the dots, very simple actually. If you turn down the diffuse on the brush in Lascaux (it's a bar on the bottom right) you can get a pretty good random dot thing going.
Gigandas (Feb 24, 2004)
Reminds me of Jenova in a weird sorta way.Looks like it could be some alien scan or something.Nice... |

oh! now i get it! get to work, my lazy bum! now!
mazi (Jan 28, 2004)
ok well first to see something we need light. . pick a light source. and since you're most likely representing 3d objects, try to picture them that way. then think of how the light hits those 3d objects. if it helps any, make a pre-sketch and map out where light hits. in a pic theres gunna be a highlight, a lighter area, a neutral, an area with no light at all, and reflections/shadows. so theres a lot to consider, but doing only the basics first can get you pretty far.
