Eh. It's not very good. At least it's not as interesting as the subject matter. It's the helmet of Miltiades, the Athenian (sort of) general of the Battle of Marathon. On the side he etched "Miltiades dedicated this helmet to Zeus." It's in some Greek museum. I'd like to see it someday.

Beautiful lighting... I imagine her sitting on a soft rug in front of a fireplace, and her expression looks like she's longing for someone. When a painting gives you a larger picture than what's actually depicted in the subject matter, it works. This does.

wow nice job on all the blending and mixing i liked the color of the first lantern you can see it in v2

The guy turned out really well, but it'll look even better when you come up with a better background. If anything, a moderately dark grey might do better as the lower shade of the background. I dunno. You'll figure it out, just play around with stuff on the canvas for a bit instead of thinking so hard about it, I guess. Sometimes that works for me, because I tend to overthink my drawings too sometimes.

this a WIP for a friend that will become a part of the cover for his next album his band is coming out with, it's inspired by someone else but he liked the contradictory idea and image of a famous political figure doing an uncharacteristic thing. i'm sure there are some relevancies or deeper meanings can be found, but whatever, assuming you can figure out who this man is. the older members of this board should be able to get it (also assuming i drew this well enough for him to be recognizable)

as always, criticism, input, even some new ideas are welcome before i finish this up

This is awesome, but it feels unfinished. I think the upper arm is somewhat distracting due to the bright solids, which are used more effectively in the hair and face.
