Chalkboard Girl
Soshell
(Jan 19, 2004)
I thought it would be cool to draw something that looked like it was drawn on chalk board :)
sal (Jan 19, 2004)
cool idea indeed... could use some more detail tho.. maby some colour.... (coloured chalk)
marcello (Jan 19, 2004)
it's somewhat blurry for a chalk drawing. the lines you'd get with a chalkboard would be much sharper and coarser.
Soshell (Jan 19, 2004)
really? you think they would be sharper? i guess i didnt think about it...i thought they would be like that...i dont think i use chalk often...computers would do that to ya huh? heh ^^' plus i use my finger covered in chalk dust on chalk boards usually :-p |

Trying to see how varying the outline width would do to my picture.
Childlike_Vampire (Dec 4, 2003)
Oh, it's a fae, so very pretty! Very nicely done thus far, I REALLY like her hair and eyes. The lineart is very spiffy, I like the varying thickness. Nice! ^^I've fixed the hands and experimented with color (how is it?)...
thanks for the suggestions. I'm glad you like my lineart.
marcello (Jan 19, 2004)
random late reply.all applets have an eyedropper tool, you can select a color by right clicking. not a huge fan of the colors you picked for hair/skin though, too much white overall ... Who wants to color it?

I stopped in the pet store earlier today and passed by some fish that sort of looked like this one. ^.^
marcello (Jan 18, 2004)
A fish with a hot chick on it? where can you buy those??
HJ (Jan 18, 2004)
Schweet.. Is the fish gigantic or is the girl really small? Awesome bubblage and coloring. Great.
xvolcomx (Jan 19, 2004)
Thats really nice. I like the coloring and shading. And the water(bg) looks so great. Nice job. |

Just making fun of the ridiculous exaggeration and lack of subtlety some manga have. But seriously folks, use CSS when designing webpages. |

odd drawings tend to pop out when someone has a lot of things on their minds has anyone else noticed such? Anyway, that's my case and this is what the outcome was. Enjoy.
marcello (Dec 14, 2003)
that's a good question, considering they're books with no pictures in them.
Childlike_Vampire (Dec 14, 2003)
But...there are pictures in the Harry Potter books...at the beginning of every chapter...and on very nearly every cover...
marcello (Dec 14, 2003)
she didn't draw them
h0micidal-pupp3t (Jan 18, 2004)
You know what? This make me think of Sirius Black (;____;). Not Snape in the least.Anyway. I'm odd. Now on to the groveling! This is so amazing. It a-l-most has a sepia tone to it. I love the expression, and the scan lines as well. The color around the edges draws attention to the person. *nods* |

(Jan 17, 2004)
A portrait of my girlfriend Kiku ^_^ She's prettier than that, though.Sorry about the craptastic background, I couldn't think of anything else to do... And this did not take me an hour and a half, I scrapped about three drawings of her before this one.
marcello (Jan 17, 2004)
p.s. handwritten japanese doesn't look quite like that. looks like you copied printed hiragana... mainly the ? and ? look odd. not sure what that ? is about, either, but I'm no expert.
Ari (edited Jan 17, 2004)
I think it could be just that I have really bad handwriting... It does look pretty weird... *shrug* It gets the point across...Is there a font in Lascaux that can do hirigana? |

practicing.....kind of boring pic but oh well
Zappo (Jan 13, 2004)
you could make the pears exploding pears..........You can always get attention by adding contrast or complimentry colors....Just a thought, im not no scientist :)
false_truths (Jan 13, 2004)
actually, this is kind of interesting. the pears kind of seem to be more real than the background. maybe its because the rest of the pic is in blues, and then the pairs are yellowy-green. lol. cool ^_^.
RabidMalikFanGirl (Jan 13, 2004)
Well if the pears were exploding, it wouldn't be too much of a still life, ne? But I agree, the foreground and the background color are quite a contrast. :) Nice work.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 16, 2004)
Some of the most famous and interesting paintings done by the old masters are still-life. Nothing boring about this. Realism is very difficult to do and this is great work. Keep it up! |

Another Man Down......
marcello (Jan 16, 2004)
nice picture but that face really creeps me out. it looks too old for the body, and it's not clear if it's a male or female. not that that couldn't be intentional.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jan 16, 2004)
yes, Marcello, the asexual appearance is quite intentional, as is the question of age, as Cupid is usually portrayed that way. Although to "creep you out" was not my intention.
strangeoid (Jan 16, 2004)
It does look like a painting... absolutely marvelous representation of Cupid. I really love the glittering arrow.
laurael (Jan 16, 2004)
wow...love the way it 'does' look painted...just incredible. |
