Contest Week 24: Distorted Anatomy
Kloxboy (edited Aug 14, 2006)
Contest Week 24: Distorted Anatomy (2 weeks long) Your goal this week is to draw a distorted human figure. It can be a drawing of a full body, half of a body, a portrait, a hand, a foot, as long as it's human and you've distorted it somehow (please, no aliens, cyborgs, anthropomorphics, etc.). You may only draw 1-2 figures/people in your piece. This drawing can come from your imagination or you can use a photo reference to draw from (just don't forget to distort the anatomy some how). ...

Hes freaky looking, and i agree with just about every1 else the metal looks amazing :)
kejoco (Aug 2, 2006)
Thanks guys...I realize now that his nose looks too flat, which is throwing off the rest of the picture, and I can't figure out how to fix it.
I'm proud of the metal...I might go back and fix the nose, think it just needs more highlight

So I was talking to someone on aim, they showed me a picture and it was really good, had a very nice style. But, one of the hands looked like the figners were stubby, square, and made of cardboard. My words were (not exactly but fairly close to):

"The picture is great! But the hand (lower one) is a little wonky. Gah! You draw eyes so pretty!"

Suprisingly there response was: "Are you fucking kidding me?" and they proceded to say that I had hurt them and they couldn't talk to me anymore, etc.

Thus: THIS IS A HAND FOR YOU. grow up.

Love the nasty look his girlfriends giving him as he looks at the girl walking by. LOL.

Congrats Priszcilla! This is awarded first place for Contest Week 23: Zoraw's Secret. This contest weighted conceptual humor as a key component to judging, and this piece exhibits both detail in the art while keeping up with a humorous and interesting composition. Zoraw almost becomes a secondary character in this drawing, exhibiting a strangely anthropomorphic attitude while staying within the bounds of a completely robotic... robot. The blank expression in Zoraw's eyes and expressions of the female characters add ...

In any case, I can't really do this art b.s. stuff. This drawing has cleavage, and that counts for something. The dumpy sunburned nature of Zoraw and the potential for canine urinary ejection in the following moments bring this more-or-less well-colored piece on top. Certainly more work could go into the coloring and lineart for this piece, but most of the entries in this contest had a sketchy quality to them.

twin peaks!! really good painting.the yellows make it cheerful and light. THE FACE IS really nicely done!! wow.

(life is way too complicated now, true, there were advantages to yester-year, simpler times had less STRESS.SURE, TECHNOLOGY IS GREAT, BUT man himself is still too primitive and animal-based to handle it. our homo sapiens hasn't changed to keep up with tech; we're still the human who farmed, went by the seasons, had religions, superstitions, and lived by our instincts. Homo sapiens is just not ADVANCED, EVOLVED, to keep up with his sciences. )thus, we still need simpler times as this picture illustrates. GREAT PICTURE!!

Solipsist (Jul 24, 2006)
Untitled Untitled (2001, crayon on paper, 8.5" by 11")-It is fitting that Hinterbichler did not title this piece, as any label upon it would immediately destroy the impact and importance of such a work. This is a piece that almost speaks for itself by communicating a hidden pride that all of humanity shares. While many artists simply use blank white paintings for their art, Hinterbichler goes one step further and improves upon the unimprova...

Reminds me of my bunny, except she's a ninja and likes to climb up the side of chairs. >_>; Never before have I seen anything like it.

But anyway. I love this~ <33 That bunny must have some difficulty eating. Though, wait. I take it he likes larger food than most bunnies.... XDD;;
Jimbob (Jul 23, 2006)
Aww.. you should've done the entire bunny, the style is adorable.
You can still leave out the eyes though, for the psychotic look :)

Rough Guide...feel free to erase anything, I'm sure its not quite in proportion
Draw on one layer, put black square over your work on seperate layer.
Make a note in your revision which layers you edited.
Please add layers for next person to use.
when mentioning which layers you used, it would be helpful if you state the # and its position, ex: "i used layer 1. on the bottom" or "I used layer 1. on the top".
reason being what one person considers the first layer is relative.
Order of drawing will be the same in which offer was accepted, 1. Dan, 2. Clox, 3. Staci, 4. myself.
Pick whichever block is still available.
Please refrain from peeking at previous work, I think it would add more to the experiment.
Feel free to draw in whatever style/colours you choose as long as ref is recognizable
