I love what looks to be a flock of birds in the background moving towards the clouds. I think small details like that really can make a picture stick out. Also, love the border. Looks really really pretteh. =D GJ.

the beginner board has a low file size limit to keep the number of revisions/edits down, I suggest posting in the intermediate board if you plan to put multiple edits into a file.

Thank you Marcello for the information- I will do a couple more here- then look at intermediate. I want to be good enough so that I fit in with the other artists here. I had done the whole image without editing- it was my first attempt to edit it- but since I draw freehand does that affect the amount of work I can do on the images?

A number of things will affect the size of the file, the canvas size, the number of layers, number of colors, number of solid colors vs individual. On lascaux, all the layers are saved in a lossless format, so each layer adds to the size (you can merge layers to reduce size a bit)

This is my first time using an online paint program. Sorry it isn't that creative or good, but I'll learn. :) I'm no good at shading, so any advice would help.

Nice eyes ^^ Good for your first time, for shading, try using the dodge and burn tool. They're very useful :)
Background needs something in it but a good start.
BTW, Welcome to 2draw!

Using the dodge/blur tools aren't always useful. Using lighter or darker hues is more convenient, and you can control how light or how dark the shading is. The dodge/burn tools are better reserved for shiny things.

It can be easy to overdo the dodge/burn, so sometimes it's easier just to lower or heighten the RGB color variability by about 20 notches. Then you have some control over your shading.

Or in the case of lascaux, just use the color selector, it automatically has the full range of lights and darks of the color you have selected.

First you used the blur tool way to much.
Is he like white.. cuz theres no skin color to him.
The hair has lot of black lines in it. o_O
The eys colud also use some work.\

Knockoff, it's art. It can have white skin. Obviously, your vision of art is very narrow.
There's worse shit on this site. S/he spent a half-hour, It looks decent.
I don't think the blur tool detracts in this piece.
The hair...yeah, I sort of agree with you on that one.
The eye actually looks pretty good.

Dir En Grey... Kyo's face is so white when he's not ripping it to shreds... Very scary... I prefer Malice Mizer actually... Mana's face is even MORE white!

BTW KO, there's no need to be so harsh. You know... You weren't all that great when you first started out either!
