You're far from 'exact.' If you can't take criticism, I wouldn't recommend drawing here.
Maiko (Mar 22, 2006)
I have to say, the colours ARE blinding. >_>
Pantera (Mar 23, 2006)
I love Stewie, the colours are a bit bright for my poor eyes :)

I like this a lot too. I mean, this is great. Excellent choice of colors, the silhouettes are amazing, and the focus/unfocus is just inspiring. Fantastic.

ref

It occured to me I haven't drawn any men on 2draw... which is funny, 'cause when I'm traditional drawing, I usually do about even numbers of both men and women. Sooo... yeah.

I sorta wish lascaux had a flip tool like shi-painter does, 'cause whenever I use shi, I always flip the picture around to see what's wrong with it, but in lascaux.... you can't. I tried holding a mirror up to the screen, but it really doesn't work.

I love the halftone patterns that are emerging in these latter versions! I think they give the painting a more natural look (which is kind of odd since I generally think halftones are very artificial looking, but here it looks very natural to me).
patienceisoverrated (Apr 2, 2006)
Thanks... you're all too sweet :)

I was kinda experimenting with halftones in this one, I've never really used them before... it's good to know something works.
Gigge (Apr 3, 2006)
Nice work. The colors in dark skin seem so nice for portraits to me.

I drew this today because I wanted to draw it and I wanted you to see that I drew it and I wanted you to see it and think something, not necessarily what I thought, because you think what you think.

I think he's looking at the world through binoculars because he's too embarrassed of the spots all over his face to actually go out in public and face people up close.

Oddly, it made me think of this: http://www.youdraw.com/cgi-bin/solopic.pl?picnum=263703, which i drew in a kind of story board on YouDraw. :)
Axil62 (Apr 3, 2006)
A youdrawer eh? :)
gerbear (Apr 4, 2006)
well *blushes*..yeh. Liked what a pain in the ar*se it is to draw there. I have done a few things I like over there. Not sure u will link to em but ..http://www.youdraw.com/cgi-bin/solopic.pl?picnum=363318, http://www.youdraw.com/cgi-bin/solopic.pl?picnum=350921 (got the face too wide but still like it), http://www.youdraw.com/cgi-bin/solopic.pl?picnum=263993, http://www.youdraw.com/cgi-bin/solopic.pl?picnum=254481 (my fav as it is original, no photo ref). Anyhow...enuff of me *laughing*

Am just learning the program here. Went thru your gallery. I would rave, but you already know how good you are. :) Both my parents are professional artists and I teach it so I have seen my share of art and in my opinion you are truly brilliant. Well, dang, I raved anyhow didn't I?

Just starting out. It transformed quite a bit: the original picture was a doodle I made when I was starting out, and I hated it, so I drew over it and made a pseudo-caricature (not really a caricature since I hardly exaggerrated anything) of a guy I know. Reference photo: http://www.feebonics.org/images/genia4_photo.jpg.

I didn't like the original picture: it was something I tried when I was starting out, and it was a pretty ugly sketch to start coloring, so I ended up doing a quick pseudo-caricature of a guy I know.

I wouldn't mind one of these actually, when are they going to be in production?
Axil62 (Mar 28, 2006)
Well I'd like to get them into production before Dinco De Mayo this year but I'm going to need investors. Ya got $1500?
Sweetcell (Mar 29, 2006)
LOL the fartinator. Actually this would solve some smelly problems in the house.

Can you get it in any other color than flesh? Id like one to match my rug.

I haven't felt much inspiration to paint anything lately, and I kinda had the blahs and felt sad, so I was browsing photos of polar bears because that always cheers me up. They do so many cute, funny things and I end up laughing instead of feeling sad. I ran across this and wanted to paint it because of the pretty lighting. I love polar bears the bestest. I want one of my own but it's too hot here and it would just eat me anyway.

Omg, bahaha

Why is she so scared of polar bears?
ginny_91 (Mar 27, 2006)
Wow you are one of the best artist ever. I cannot believe this is a painting and on the computer. I'm not a bear lover but in this picture I think I sunddenly like them now!^^
Artiste (Apr 3, 2006)
My favorite thing about this is the way you painted the shadow on the face of the bear in the back. The transluscent quality shows such depth.
The colors are so sensitive, and palpable... (I love the way that orange next to pale lavendar happens so distinctly in nature)
