I haven't felt much inspiration to paint anything lately, and I kinda had the blahs and felt sad, so I was browsing photos of polar bears because that always cheers me up. They do so many cute, funny things and I end up laughing instead of feeling sad. I ran across this and wanted to paint it because of the pretty lighting. I love polar bears the bestest. I want one of my own but it's too hot here and it would just eat me anyway.

I think it's finished but I won't know till I don't look at it for a while and then come back and look at it again.

This is really beautiful..the light is magnificent! I'm glad they got you outta your uninspired mood. Really really one of your best, in my opinion.

Holy Jesus Pickles! This is Trelandous! I love it!!!!!! Great effect the sun has on the bears!
JoeNobody (Mar 17, 2006)
this is great, I could tell it was by just seeing the thumbnail....yeah, it's probably not a good idea to own one of your own. They cost way too much to feed and they shed all over the house.
pandabarrie (Mar 17, 2006)
and joe would know...
i love this! i love bears period, but this is gorgeous! i really like how you have the sunset light on the snow...many props :)
Miss_DJ (edited Mar 17, 2006)
I absolutely adore the coloring...and these guys are vewy vewy sweet and wuvable. I've been sad lately, too. Is it the moon? no way..the moon is nicer than that...it does good things. (a question, the far bear's nose...is that shadow? the line that meets like a wishbone up near his eye?)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 17, 2006)
No, it's a marking they have on their snout. Yes, it's the moon. It's a really powerful one this month, and it's making everyone feel cranky, get sick, not be able to sleep.... it's a fact, and you hit right on it. (shant do any good to argue with me, as I am the moon goddess, you know, Cynthia knows all about the moon and it's evil magic)
davincipoppalag (Mar 17, 2006)
Cindy said "shant"...that moon IS powerful
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 17, 2006)
of course, what other language would a moon goddess use? duhuhh duhhhhh?
davincipoppalag (Mar 17, 2006)

Omg, bahaha

Why is she so scared of polar bears?
ginny_91 (Mar 27, 2006)
Wow you are one of the best artist ever. I cannot believe this is a painting and on the computer. I'm not a bear lover but in this picture I think I sunddenly like them now!^^
Artiste (Apr 3, 2006)
My favorite thing about this is the way you painted the shadow on the face of the bear in the back. The transluscent quality shows such depth.
The colors are so sensitive, and palpable... (I love the way that orange next to pale lavendar happens so distinctly in nature)
