how embarassing-white shorts too. I get it and all but what the hell is that brown thing?
Aubrey> it looks like she'll need more than a pad for that disaster^^
DejasView (Aug 15, 2004)
There is so much more to this picture than what might be considered the blood. It definitely keeps you wondering about what the hell is going on here. Lots of possibilities. I love the shadows and and variations in lighting. The chair on the right appears to be screwed up a little bit on the perspective though...or am I just not looking at that right?
quintessence (Aug 16, 2004)
If I was having a 'women leak' of those proportions, I'd be in the hospital, not the airport. o____o

Love the chairs and the bright blue suitcase.

The ole stinky ciggybutt is a nice touch. Good job Axil.

This is very nice as usual and I agree with davinci-he looks like he's in a lit doorway
DinoFlorist (Aug 26, 2004)
I am going to guess that this picture is inspired by Jimi Hendrix's song. Knowing that makes the picture say more to me. It's like literature; people can analyze all day long and come up with new meanings. It doesn't mean any of them were the artists' intention, but to me, that song and this picture go together to make a whole mood. In fact I played the song while I looked at this, and I see the ambiant wind in this picture.

Yes, it's crying "Mary."

this would've looked even better in Oekaki I reckon

"It's a still life watercolor of a now late afternoon, as the sun shines through the curtain lace and shadows wash the room. And we sit and drink our coffee, couched in our indifference like shells upon a shore you can hear the ocean roar in the dangling conversation, and the superficial sighs, the boarders of our lives. And you read your Emily Dickinson and I my Robert Frost and we note our place with book markers that measure what weve lost...." Simon and Garfunkle

alwaysLearning (Mar 11, 2004)
One of my all-time favourite songs, Axil - and you did it justice. The final version really captures the feelings of "the shadows wash the room", in a way that the earlier versions didn't, leaving the image more disconnected from the song. This brings them back into a connected whole, as a picture and its description should be, IMHO. :) The only flaw is not in the image or its execution, but in the connection between it and the song - because she doesn't look "couched in indifference", but instead intently focused. No insult intended, though -- the piece is gorgeous, regardless.

Stupid whiners. The dark version is better.
I've got the sun light pouring through my windows and I can see it fine.
dearest (Dec 29, 2006)
if i had seen the darker version first, i probably wouldn't have been able to decipher the image. now, looking at both, the darker image packs slightly more punch in the emotive department, but-- hell, they're both *smashing*. love the detail, the style, the masterful use of light and dark, all of it. usually i find text in artwork distracting and unnecessary, but the words you use really help clarify the theme. great stuff.
