Where do you find your anime characters "Bubbles"? I'm not very familiar with this Anime and manga stuff, so I just now went to "wikipedia" to learn what it's all about. It seems pretty interesting. I thought it was just comic book cartoon type characters......but I see you can get videos, and watch anime on tv also. Where did you learn how to draw anime characters? Is that Manga Vampire Knight on a video, "Bubbles"?? It seems like more and more people are drawing anime characters lately.....it seems really popular.
maybug (May 24, 2009)
lolz, as much as I love anime/manga, I don't rly watch or read em anymore cos the more you watch, the quicker u get tired of them >.> Personally, i find it more fun to make my own :)
vlad.the.hamster (May 24, 2009)
I'm into Yugioh. :P
but that's just me. She does look kinda like Yuuki. I don't read VK, but I have a friend that's obsessed. :P
Bubblicious (May 26, 2009)
Yeah, Firecracker, it's on Veoh.com. If ya go there, and search 'Vampire Knight' it should be there. You have to be careful though, because some of them aren't in English. You have to look for the ones that say 'English Subs' or 'Dubs'. You'd have to watch tons of Anime to know how to draw them. I'm partial to Naruto and Vampire Knight more than anything. You go to Onemanga.com, and they have all the manga's you could ever want to read. Of course, reading them takes forever, and is kind of confusing because it is read from right to left.

This "pic" is awesome.....I want to learn how to draw like this....."lol"!! "Gillie".....How do you create such amazing artwork without using any texture tools.....your blending and shading and everything is just perfection.....I wonder if I can ever learn how to do that....Fantastic draw! :)
QTgillie (May 23, 2009)
thanks bunches elly, I am glad you commented also
Fire: your artistry and abilities are all there inside of you and on your pics, it is just behind all of that texture. I only use the texture tools if the subject calls for them, such as a pattern in a cloth. I have used them in an abstract. Or a repetition effect I may want to achieve, such as what you did in your wheat. Your work is so beautiful, it can stand on it's own with out all the "effects" added.
Thanks so much for you comments, they mean a lot.

Lovely muted color and the subject makes this look like an aged, classical painting! :)
shults (May 22, 2009)
subject makes this look like an aged, classical painting!

This painting is of a woman in a mosaic revealed on Israel. The women in the mosaic looks down, and parts of her were destroyed during the years. I tried to paint her the way she must have looked like.
elly (May 22, 2009)
Yes this is absolutely beautifully done! The monochromatic color really gives it that classic painting look! Very nice!!!!!!!
Suntan (May 22, 2009)

Tell me if there is something I need to work on to make this advanced quality, but don't just say 'this sucks' or anything like that. If you don't like something tell me and I'll fix it.

that brige is wonderful and the girl really looks scary ^-^
firecracker (edited May 21, 2009)
Maybe you could make the background real "misty" looking.....like the girl is walking thru "fog", or something like that. It would give the "pic" a mysterious look. I really love that bridge though. I think if you darken the sky a little bit, and add some misty looking "fog".....the glow from the moon would show up better.....and it would really "set" this pic off.
xiau (edited May 21, 2009)
I think a darker color scheme would suit it well, and maybe use more washed out colors for the girl to give her a ghostly feel (transparency would help achieve this effect, too.) The coloring is also out of the lines in a few places, and the shading could stand a bit of a clean up.

But don't be discouraged! This is a great effort, and I'd love to see how it could be improved on :)
enjoydotcom (May 22, 2009)
I do love the bridge and riverbank. Also the stuffed bear is sweet. I do think however her left, our right cheek is a tad lopsided. And everything but the bottom of the bridge and a little white spot in the river is neatly colored within the lines.
Other than that good effort.
