How'd I miss this? I've been sitting here looking at it now for about half an hour. I wish it was bigger. I've gone through about four stages of thinking I understood the image...keep changing my mind. The death mask of the dying heart is terrifying. Powerful image and so beautifully rendered. That ribcage and foreshortened elbow are so lovely. I'm getting the same sense of horror from this that I felt during some of Jack Nicholson's mad scenes in The Shining.

Haro indeed! Its so vividly green, I quite like it. The sharp edges of you shading technique are very nice.

elly (Feb 26, 2010)
Thanks, mursku =) You should try it! It's not as hard as some might think...ya, maybe a little patience is required but that's a good thing to practice too!

Because it was 18 plus and the title something fishy, i had something completely different in mind.
enjoydotcom (Jan 8, 2009)
Flubbers, Hahahahaha you crack me up.

It looks like one of those glass etchings
Rat (Jan 8, 2009)
Now I do have to wonder, nonetheless, if that's fishnet and feathers.

If I am bored, I take off my shoes. Get reacquainted with my toes, give them names and play until they beg me to stop.

JK face is nice, but I detest the floaty-ness of it.

Yeah......the thing was too big, so I just did it there

bette_davis_eyes (Jan 7, 2009)
I'd love to know how Gummetje is pronounced :P this is great!
enjoydotcom (edited Jan 8, 2009)
Color switching: blue under is a harsh eraser (ink), pink under is a soft eraser (pencil).
Gummetje, to be more precise it means little eraser. (Normally it is just "gum").
Pronounciation: difficult to explain because of the "G" English doesn't know the sound we make when saying it. The rest is Uhm muh chuh. (uh-uh a lot of uh). (hmm, I feel the need to try to make people say our "G". Push the back of your tongue to the palate of your mouth, and blow air. Darn, feel like I'm explaining a born blind what color is.)

Painted Face

Grin
they said,
demanding
I hide feelings,
and show the false me.
Put on that happy face.
Repress the sadness and hurt,
for no one likes the lonely child;
or so they told me and I believed.
Swallow all that you know about yourself,
and lose your precious identity too.
So I painted my lips big and bright,
for all to see the cheerful me;
my soul sinister with time.
Now grown and on my own,
I fear being lost.
I am consumed,
but the paint
does come
off.

The Dalliance of The Eagles
Walt Whitman

Skirting the river road, (my forenoon walk, my rest)
Skyward in air a sudden muffled sound, the dalliance of the eagles,
The rushing amorous contact high in space together,
The clinching interlocking claws, a living, fierce gyrating wheel,
Four beating wings, two beaks, a swirling mass tight grappling,
In tumbling turning clustering loops, straight downward falling,
"Till o'er the river pois'd, the twain yet one, a moments lull,
A motionless still balance in the air, then parting, talons loosing,
Upward again on slow-firm pinions slanting, their separate diverse flight,
She hers, he his, pursuing.

WOW, Gillie, I'm in awe, my jaw hit the table on this one. I spent the day out watching these beauties flying high, fishing, and just being free, you captured their majestic look spot on!
