Aw, thanks. Yeah, the more good stuff we make here the more we'll inspire each other, for sure. I find that browsing through the CGSociety award galleries doesn't hurt either. ;)

Justin has some really loose works, but I prefer his tighter stuff, like this one and this one. The ideal for a concept artist is to get enough detail across for someone to make a good 3D model or get the "feeling" of a scene or character without needing all the work of a really clean finished piece (since stuff might get changed a lot or thrown out altogether), but sometimes Justin's work borders on being complicated mush.

Yes, I find it hard to put forth the effort to excel, or even to learn here, when the "players" outnumber the serious artists, and most of the art is silly, mindless doodling. Not that there's anything wrong with playing... you know what I mean. In a little bitty nutshell... I'm just glad you dropped in and painted something. :D

You brought him back. Did you ever do a story with him?

If you add some browns and deeper yellows to the chandelier it'll look more like brass or gold, and the line tool would be great to get a nice straight edge on that sword.

Thanks SV. I'm often too tired to do more than browse and comment. I commute a over an hour /to an hour and a half a day twice a day with traffic. It takes patience , time and energy to spend a lot of time drawing, whereas I can browse and comment in a few minutes. Sometimes I'm spending time doing my photos, which I do a lot of...http://davincipoppalag.deviantart.com/ Besides.. it annoys a couple of them no end that I comment on everything, and I dont want to disappoint them.

A Rant

This took about half of the time said. I went off and played guitar. Rant coming after I finish baking cookies.

Rant: I suffer from mental illnesses. People enjoy shoving things in my face and yelling at me and just driving me nuts and my mental capacity can't take it. I hate it. I hate it I hate it I hate it. I'm bi polar and people don't recognize that. People don't know what to do when I have a major mood swing. And when they go too far and make me cry, the try to act like its not their fault and that they did nothing. And its so...stupid! I hate them. I hate myself. I hate that I can't take it. And I know its not my fault, but sometimes it feels like it is. And my medicine isn't working and now my parents have to play more money to buy higher doses and I feel so guilty, because my mom doesn't get payed enough and my dad is never home. Just... sometimes I wish I could sleep forever.

I've been into a mental institution and I'm only thirteen. For suicide prevention. And I've had two different counselors and lost tons of friends. Its no fun. Thanks for the support, though.

That's terrible. I'm sorry if this doesn't sound very sincere. At one point of my life I'd been extremely depressed and thought of suicide, but I can't very well put myself in your shoes or imagine your situation.
I guess the best I can say is keep your chin up.
