Here's the low down.....this is my Grandson, although I'm not really old enough (ok, it's possible at 45 yrs old) to have grandkids yet and I don't really have access to him and here's why...I had a daughter when I was 17 yrs old but being so young myself, my best choice was adoption...and so the right parents were found, the papers were signed, and life went on.... In the year 2000, I discovered that my then 18 yr old daughter was beginning the process contacting me thru the adoption agency we used and on her 19th birthday, we were on the way home from picking her up at the Atlanta bus station... |

I came across these roses not long ago. They're called "Happy Flowers" I think...they've figured out a way to dye them (like they do to carnations) but in multi color! I think they're so pretty...in an odd sort of way. The perfect "Easter Rose" I thought....Have a Happy One!! =)

elly (Mar 2, 2010)
Sunny, I'm impressed with your memory!!! I had a terrible monitor some time ago.....couldn't see half the stuff others were seeing (till I got my mac and went back to look thru my old draws... O_O) ewwww...lol! Thanks again my friend!

I came across a photo showing this really cool Asian wall art a few years ago and hung on to it hoping to try my hand at this in my home one day.. they use paper that's bent and creased in just the right places & then mount them onto the wall, then they used directional light positioned just right to cast shadows of face profiles made by the bent paper...I thought it was quite clever! Since I haven't taken the time to try it first hand, I decided I'd draw it instead!! =) Kewl huh?
elly (Mar 10, 2010)
thank you, kindly, thank you, kindly =)

My first try at a this big guy.....and it's about as good as it's gonna get! As you can tell, I had a rough time getting that snout to look 'decent'....ugh! Still not happy with it...frustrating but I've got to move on from this one. At least I did learn some things along the way =)
backmagicwoman (Mar 19, 2010)
Beautiful..the texture is amazing..you really should have done this in advanced...
elly (Mar 19, 2010)
Aww, thanks BMW =) I've done a few in advanced...just never sure when I begin a draw if that's the place it should be....no biggie =)
montezmaria (Mar 19, 2010)
I love the leather looking skin on this guy, wow. The skin has many stories to tell, different tones of gray and gold, aged and so beautiful. Love all your work, Elly!

I immediately remembered Anna's when I saw this. You did a great job on the yolk and the reflection in it.
Sweetcell (Apr 5, 2007)
Yes, that's yolk is amazing, I dunno about the egg shells but..... damn, you keep going like this you'll be blowing everyone's minds. Nice Elly.Is it strange the first thought I had was picking up the yolk, throwing it in a bowl with some other ingredients and making a mousse?
sparklycupcake (Jul 2, 2007)
i love the how its all liquid-y. and the yolk is perfect

I was adopted when I was six years old. The adoption agency spent two years trying to find my parents while I was in foster care but had no luck. When I was younger, not knowing who my real mom was constantly bothered me. Nowadays, it's not something I think about but I still want to know. I'd like to find her and ask her all these questions that need answers. I'd hope she could answer them for me. On the other hand, I might be better off not digging around for her. I guess I won't know until I cross that bridge.
