I know....I'm sure this has been done a hundred times around here but I thought I'd give it a shot. I used a ref stock photo for the raw egg but I didn't like the shell it had. It looked to "set up" for what I was after. Like they very carefully cracked the egg completely in half and then washed and dried them before placing them neatly next to the raw egg. No thanks. So, I added these shell pieces instead. Had to rely on my memory and minds eye cuz I couldn't find a ref pic I liked!! This was fun though. =)

BTW, I thought the egg was appropriate this time of year....Happy Easter! =D

Happy Easter, Elly! You're one good egg! (nice draw...I love the liquidyness and the yolk!)

definitely amazing
frootcake (Apr 5, 2007)
the only thing about yours is the dribbles at the bottom lack depth.
the yolk, swirls and top half is awesome though
elly (Apr 5, 2007)
Yeah, the ref photo lacked depth at the bottom too but when I tried to add more highlights, it threw it way out of balance! So....I left it true to the ref, except for the shells =) Good observation!

Nice, very nice :) I love the 3d/ realistic look of it.

I immediately remembered Anna's when I saw this. You did a great job on the yolk and the reflection in it.
Sweetcell (Apr 5, 2007)
Yes, that's yolk is amazing, I dunno about the egg shells but..... damn, you keep going like this you'll be blowing everyone's minds. Nice Elly.

Is it strange the first thought I had was picking up the yolk, throwing it in a bowl with some other ingredients and making a mousse?
sparklycupcake (Jul 2, 2007)
