I went into the school's dark room the other day with one of my friends who takes photography, it was super cool. I love how at first you can't see anything at all, it's just complete black, and all you can hear is the running water, and then sloooowly sloooowly your eyes adjust and you can make out rough shapes, then you can see outlines of whole objects and then different shades and then a little more detail...Everytime I try drawing someone outta my head they look totally skew and silly. This is COOL!
Childlike_Vampire (Mar 1, 2005)
ooh <3 the color and <3 the sketchiness. The shine on the hair, the nose, and the lips! Yum, yum, and yum! Great drawing! :D
cyclops (Mar 1, 2005)

Gigge (Mar 3, 2005)

Reality is indeed scarier than fiction - hypernovae are superenergetic events that are registered often in far away galaxies. Being hundreds of times more powerful than their already fierce supernovae cousins, hypernovae can shine as bright as the rest of the universe, emmiting incredible ammounts of gamma ray radiation. They are the greatest explosions in the universe since the Big Bang. If one were to detonate only a few thousand light years from Earth, the planet would probably be disintegrated by the furious blast. It's atmosphere and oceans would imediately boil and be spit away... then everything else would be dismantled... and everyone would die before anyone had a clue of what was happening. This image shows Earth an instant after being hit by the blast.Done now. Oh, and it's not 100% astronomically accurate... stars are completelly random, and it's not like I did a simulation to figure how it would look like. :P Ah, and I forgot to mention that Eta Carinae is only 7500 light years away and *could maybe* explode in a hypernova. Oh, and considering it's size, it's very short lived... so it may already have exploded (at least as supernova). [Of course, it takes 7500 years until we figure what happens there...]

Utterly Awesome.
Fin_beast (edited Jan 13, 2005)
Very nice. :) I like the earth.May I suggest you add many more layers of stars which are very low in opacity to. It gives it much more depth. Stars are not totally evenly spaced. The big white stars look like they have been placed evenly on purpose. Group some of that stars together... but make it look natural. Theres a tutorial somewhere about starscapes somewhere which is really good which I have used. It's somwhere in the forums I think... :s
davincipoppalag (Jan 13, 2005)
This is an old pic Fin..HK just brought it up with his comment. It's good, but I always think yours have such real looking depth..
NIKNIKKNUTZEN (Mar 2, 2005)

roight, so i found this ref in my explorations of the world wide interweb. it was posted on a site about pictures this dude found in dumpsters. pretty weird. but not really. he didnt even have this one featured tho. which WAS weird since imho its most interesting and mysterious. it was described as an 'Old Polaroid'. who is it? why is it so dark in their house? was it a boy? a girl? a small woman? and more importantly, dont they know chiffon curtains are sooo out? is the scratching a deliberate act of a scorned luffer? or was it just smooshed between a dominos pizza box and a broken Journey cd. i want to know, but will never find out. thats why i drew it ^_^
davincipoppalag (Feb 27, 2005)
Wonderful on so many levels.

concannon (Mar 1, 2005)
I'm really too tired to wrap my brain around Spanish right now, but I think it's "You don't give me the idea." The you could be a he or she, though. Damn formal you. Spanish hates me.This is trippy, I like it. His eyebrows made me laugh.
emmamommalag (Mar 1, 2005)
I like how his head colors blend with the background.
davincipoppalag (Mar 1, 2005)
You make interesting images , too , sag. I wish you would draw more.
sagenev (Mar 1, 2005)
yes, or he don't give me the idea, or she... |

Because one of the sexiest things in the world is a woman who crossdresses. (Doodle. And now, to bed! Or, my room at least.)
davincipoppalag (Feb 28, 2005)
But , Connie,, she wouldn't wear a tie by choice!! Ties!! arrrrgghh.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Mar 1, 2005)
The strange thing about this is... that after thinking on it for a few minutes... I have to completely agree. However, I don't know I would term a woman in masculine clothing as cross-dressing, since we have been able to get away with it quite effectively forEVER now. Most likely it's because we do appeal to everyone in masculine clothing... no matter what gender or what "direction" you take sexually... we can all view an attractive woman in a man's shirt.... tie or not, jacket, dress slacks, (high heeled pumps make it sexier no matter what, but not mandatory, of course :)and think... ooooh now that is SEXY. All of that aside, this is a very down to earth drawing and I like it alot.
mazi (Mar 1, 2005)
mmm crossdressing. not really hardcore but i agree on the foxyness. (theres a drag king community on livejournal ive been lurking on. hence the not hardcore comment)saaaay you dont plan to do the other one any time soon? ^^;; boys in skirts! w007.
concannon (Mar 1, 2005)
If I have time I'll do another one. :P I was rushed with this one, as it was. I started drawing at 9:30, and I had to get off the computer at ten, so. >__> Tomorrow, maybe, I'll draw your girly boy for you. |

This looks great so far. [edit]How about if you post the link of Zack's ref pic in your description? (u know, instead of going back to the 'How About This?' topic in the forum to check back on it--just a thought). Make it easier for people, ya know. [/edit]
concannon (Feb 28, 2005)
Mmrwor. Great job, I love it. I've been thinking about doing something with that ref, too.
staci (Feb 28, 2005)
yeah totally great job...you got the mood down for sure. the only small thing i would hve added would be some bolder scratchy like marks on the pane of glass in front of the couple so they look more behind it. but woo for her hair
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 28, 2005)
I'm working on this one now... I thought it was such a cool ref. Just dropped in to say I really like your interpretation of it. |
