Glass Study

I drew another outline for a picture that was mostly glass and then I realized I had never actually drawn glass. Not as bad as I thought it woulc be. Things I learned this draw.....keep blurring, keep blurring, keep blurring....

Blur is good..but you also need sharp edges.. use the antialias setting and a small brush..and then blur the inside edge (it helps to enlarge when you do this part) with the sharp outlines the rest will look ever so much more real...the top of the clear glass vase is off a bit in perspective I believe. The front edge needs to be a bit higher, it seems to drop too low? This is a good job! I particularly like the blue one!

that's pretty good! i agree with davincipoppalaq on the need of more defined edges, but it's cool. i like.

Yup...I agree too! The problem started after version two when I decided to add a background so you could actually see the glass. That didn't work at all. The clear glass got so over worked it wasn't worth salvaging. Better to take the comments and try to incorporate them into another picture. Thanks for the tips though. :)

I am drawing Chii.. Some things when wrong... I sketched it with my favorite sketch color, the freaky orange, then I THOUGHT I clicked on the other layer, OUTLINED IT IN BLACK, and realize, the sketch and the outline are on the same layer.. Then, I MAKE SURE I switched to the other layer, and outline it in that weird blue color everyone else uses to sketch... So when I go back, I will outline it in water color black... What fun...

Hey, It's me Courtney! Nice, It's a tree. If you wanted a more filled look in your tree, I would put more colored line and streaks on the bark to show the indents. But it's really COOL!

^_^ Thanks. I like dark colors, and darkness in general. *Some would go so far as to call me a goth wannabe or a freak or whatever but I LAUGH BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL THE SAME!* ~ahem~ anyway, yeah. I love anime to pieces and it's my favorite thing to draw. I tried to improve on my shading a little using that oekaki, and she's also a part of my soul damaged story. She's Haiden's demonic sister. Her hair changes a lot too. Usually it's got red streaks but I decided not to put those. and this is a surprisingly calm scene compared to what I have in my story. (In the story the sky's usually red or something) But anyway, glad ya like it.

Oh yeah! i know that one! Idiot doctor thought I broke my elbow...apparently I have an odd hole that drills throught my elbow from one end to the other?
