i missed this one!.. absolutly love it..love how all 3 edits somehow give me a different feel.. ive always admired your work..how expressive they always are and your colour uses.. i admit i still have random images of yours from way back in 2004-5 that spring mind now and then when i see that perfect shade of orange or a nicely blended gradient of paint or a warped reflection lol |

I was browsing your gallery and I can't decide if you have trouble with hands and feet or you're simply not interested in doing them. tscot does the same thing with his female nudes (hides them or has them conveniently off canvas). Once in a while you'll do a rough representation, as if to say "I could have done them, just wasn't interested". Judging by what you can do, I have to lean toward the latter as far as you are concerned but as far as tscot... well he simply can't.

Nice karl. I feel your described attitude towards limbs as our last two posters suggest. I'm not into it either...( by that I mean, I do the same thing) The torso render? Fantastic.

Thank you; I think I spent too much time on the hand in this drawing that it burned me out and the rest of the drawing suffered. Hands can be interesting, though. Just not as interesting as boobs, haha. I wish I could draw like this

I like Staci's idea, something more like Daily Deviations would be cool. The whole 'like and dislike button system' seems like it would be counterproductive because it allows people to judge anonymously and without explanation, making the showcase purely a popularity contest (opposed to a place to display the sites more skillful or innovative or interesting digital art). And yes, judging things like this would be subjective but could be relatively objective if there was some loose criteria to be met that we all agreed on (I mean, don't most prominent and respected award systems work in such a way?).

Thinking about it now I think there are pretty solid reasons a lot of pieces were showcases like this one. There was a collective evolution of skill as 2draw developed from when I joined in 2004. There seemed to be a point where the bar was raised weekly for a few years and then we got to now where it has kind of gone stagnant. We are left to look at the current content as a whole and maybe a lot doesn't fit, but when it was showcased it was amazing, inspiring, or whatever at the time it as created. |
