davincipoppalag (Oct 28, 2006)
Good call Barb.. I was going to say it looked like a woodblock too.. I like this ..
Zack (Oct 29, 2006)

Sweetcell (Oct 28, 2006)
I really like him with the blue background, he seems to pop. But the frosted look brings a deifferent look to this. I'd almost think he was frozen a a huge ice block. Your coloring and lineart is sumptious.

anatomy practice
Zack (Oct 29, 2006)
I like the blocky shading + strong outline, it's awesome. Not sure how useful it is for anatomy practice but it's a cool graphic effect.
Dr.Snoopy (Oct 29, 2006)
MrPaul, thanks for pointing that out...I din#t really noticed that before.Well it was just intended to be very quick anatomy practice mixed with some graphical stuff to make it watchable in this board...but these tips do actually help....so don't stop ^^ And yeah I noticed the big head and hands too...but they do fit very well (original). This is the issue with using paintings and sculptures as reference, they are never 100% correct. And this is why I hate my anatomy-book ...it's full of lousy handmade drawings(or doodles), and it tell you to draw people in real life. But this is hard, because I'm not going to find a naked person, willing to pose for me a few hours a day, that easily.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Oct 29, 2006)
I like the way it's kind of in a "poster edge" style and the palette is really pleasing. I don't think everything has to be anatomically correct to be pleasing (actually, a little "morphing" of that in a work like this makes it more interesting sometimes)
friend (Oct 29, 2006)

Kloxboy (Nov 23, 2006)
That torso is rather amazing. Would love to see you draw more anatomy like this.
Sweetcell (Nov 23, 2006)
Amazing piece as always, great torso, well porportioned breasts, fabulous hair, just a question, is she sinking into the bed or is she behind it? I don't quite get the sheets and how they combine with her. Ah nevermind, I'm just jealous over your ability at realism. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving Cindy. *gobble gobble*

this is the scariest thing I can think of. having my dog turn into a robotic psycho killer dog that bites my drawing hand off as I set down her food dish someday....
Miss_DJ (Oct 28, 2006)

Miss_DJ (edited Oct 28, 2006)
ooo i like the song! thanks! Orgin of the phrase: It was used by the 18th century political writer Edmund Burke - "having looked to government for bread, on the very first scarcity they will turn and bite the hand that fed them".
Sweetcell (Oct 28, 2006)
Huh, and all this time I thought it was the NIN song as well. I guesse Trent had to look for his inspiration and turned to 18th century England. I have no idea what I'm saying. X)If my dog ever did this I'd be mad and scared, but I love the pooch too much not to forgive her. |
