This is cool but not exactly intermediate. It's cute though, but 13 minutes is probably not enough :)
Sweetcell (Mar 8, 2008)
Not Intermediate. Please begin in begginers to learn the appelets before drawing on this board.

A scribble I did in five minutes.
Meant to illustrate the stupidity of the MF for ignoring my NSBM threads, and how the GD is a used condum filled with a mix of l33t fags and prommies.
There I am (O HAY ITS GRAMPS), the grand pubah of the faggotry taking place.
This is my first app drawing, an while I'm a very talented sketch artist, I find myself struggling with other media :|

He is done now, sorry, I did not know there was a limit to unfinished works. Here, he shall rest forever more11 LOL My reference for him is on a previous submission.
davincipoppalag (Mar 8, 2008)
You can get more space if you ask one of the mods if you still want to work on it

OOps, I meant to put this on intermediate...please forgive me. The layers are still confusing me. I would like to know if you can move it aside while drawing on another layer and then retrieve it. Was also wondering if you can revise your image after you submit it as done. This one was three layers.

Ahhh Laura, you know I am a sucker for the birdies, and especially the cardinals, I have tons of refence pics I want to do, Your work is fantastic and you are really starting to get the hang of it, and it shows in this one. Beautiful draw, and yes you can hide layers by clicking on the button next to them. you can even delete the "outline" layer that you don't want before you merge them, or any layer that maybe you were "experimenting" with, and come back and make a new layer if needed. And yes you can change the order of the layers, which is helpful if while plotting your pic you make an error of order, which I have done, oops, lol. In the oekaki-shi painter you can even use slide to make the layers semi-visible, which is a great help. Btw on your screen next to your name in the login bar, there is "config" that if you click on it allows you to change your applets to an advanced mode, which in the oekaki-shi painter gives you more layers, and a few more options, I haven't checked yet in lascaux yet to see what is available. memo me if you need any help or have any questions, I may be able to help.
Meno (Mar 5, 2008)
LOVE cardinals; love this cardinal, in particular!
gel_o (Mar 6, 2008)
This is great QT, a wonderful pic and you said you are a slow learner. Very nice!
Sweetcell (Mar 7, 2008)
If you cleaned up some of the lines, fixed the bg a bit, and just added more light leaves there'd be no problem to have it here. Just needs cleaning up and tweaking.

About layers, on Lascaux they work the same as Shi, you can hide them, move them, merge them, and even make them opaque the same as Shi by moving the slider. Just make sure it's highlighted blue or you'll be making the wrong one transparant. If your still confused you can memo me or try the Wiki tutorial.

Awesome, that belly looks spectacular. Your hand must feel sore from drawing the scales :S>
Sweetcell (Mar 7, 2008)
Actually if it weren't for the pen density on the lower right below the brushes I wouldn't have done such tiny scales. Maddening.

Tankies all.

I Love gaia online. and I Think thats adorable!
Sweetcell (Feb 16, 2008)
Fill tool, avoid it. Use layers and put down a base of color then another layer for shading and highlights. Thin the lineart, round out the face, take advantage of the line tool for the wand, put in a bg other than white and try to spend more time on your pieces. Read the rules to be sure.
AndreaTR (edited Mar 6, 2008)
TehFailure: Thanks!

Sweetcell: I was just testing it out, but anyways I have photoshop now. More layers, and much easier to work with. Also, i like the lineart to be that thick, it's on purpose. Thanks for the help though!

Awww...How sweet. I love this Wiz. Very good draw...:)
Sweetcell (Mar 4, 2008)
Hey kiddo what an improvement in such a short time. See how better things are when you put a solid base down? And I can see your getting used to layers. Just try putting a shadow underneath them so they don't look like they're floating above the grass. Keep it up and memo me if you need more help.

My favorite line from the movie "Come on Bambi, look," *thumpthumpthump* "The water's stiff."
Wizzard (Mar 5, 2008)
Yeah,I like that line also. I will contact you and thanks for the offer, and the help of me learning layers.it makes every thing so much easier, Thanks for the comments.

It's so simple, but there's so much to love here. The sand, the glass, and the waves lapping on the shore. Beauty eh.
