I finished it yay! so uh... this is my first picture on 2draw.net... and I guess I did ok? ^^;; any comments?

I think you did pretty good. As I'm looking at it I see that looks like a faint blur of color all around her. Personally I tend to like colors to stay in the lines, most of the time, but otherwise it's looking fine to me.

well I figured it was since you put it around everything, but since it's so faint my eyes don't really pick it up at first and so it gives a slightly blurred look. Just saying.

I think the linework looks fine. It is a little rough in places but it matches the strong colors and the dark background well enough that it fits. |

opacity and flow are your best friends. Almost nothing else affects the brush control I have as those two things, because I like to turn them both down very low.

Another picture of.....this alien character of mine XDI'm still keeping his face a mystery. His name is Kie, pronounced as 'Key'. He's an alien (a rather girly one at that >;3) from some-planet-that-I'm-still-thinking-of >XD It feels nice to be back at oekaki again ^___^

How you didn't show his eyes makes him seem mysterious. And somehow...cunning...? Beautiful job. The floofyness on his coat (that big puffball ^^; ) is great.

It's a nice setup with how you've postioned the characters, but personally I think you have a more practice to do before you will have "mastered the basic skills of drawing" as this intermediate board description says. I'll give you a few pointers that may help, a lot of people do some of the things I'm seeing you do here- it looks like you've tried to draw the hands the way hands look, since you've added lines of fingers and such, but a common mistake is to make hands disproportionately small. Hands should really be almost as long as the distance from a person's chin to their hairline when the hand is held flat, and making a fist with them wouldn't make them as small as what you've drawn. Another thing is that some of the shading is smooth but some of it is rough and I don't think the two styles are really looking like the fit together here. The same goes for the lines, some are smooth but many are very rough. Try to be consistant with one style or another, and if you purposefully make them rough then you're going to have to do it in a way that it looks like you meant it to be like that, not just because you weren't able to make it smooth. A way that would make it look purposeful was if the picture had a mood or emotion in it that needed rough lines, like anxiety or panic.

I looked back on your previous version of this picture, and you do seem to do linework well. You'll probably want to work on coloring/shading and backgrounds, though. Though Redpanda gave a lot of good advice already it seems. ^^

It's suppose to snow 10 inches here tomorrow. It was sunny and warm this morning, but already the clouds are moving in over the mountains.and I'm guessing the neck is being buried by a scarf or some other winter clothing.
