This is for the contest, let me describe..The ultimate paradise, is my ultimate dream, a world where cancer can be beaten. My father had cancer and it's so frustrating there's nothing you can do. A lot of people die because of this disease, it's a nightmare and the only paradise for me is a world where hospitals can beat cancer! (The yellow ambulance is a dutch one, becaus i'm dutch! =D)

lol @ AxilI'm sorry about your father, Sanne. You actually live in that world.....bazillions of people fight cancer and beat it every day. (several of my immediate family members have done so) It's not always a death sentence, sometimes it's all about attitude. You gotta want to live badly enough to... well, to LIVE, though. There are, however, inoperable, untreatable cases, and if your father's happened to be one of those, you have my deepest sympathy and my prayers. I'm with Dan in that I'd rather die from pretty much anything than having to be saved by an ambulance that looks like a 1969-1973 reject refrigerator with wheels that came from a junkyard and was spray painted by homeless people who got hold of some really bad weed. Remember to keep your chin up and keep your sense of humor. Nobody gets out of here alive, either way. :) edit: I didn't intend for any of that to sound mean, I was actually trying to "impart some hope". I don't know your exact situation, and I do know personally how painful it is. Life would not be nearly so precious or joyful if it didn't come with the pain and the cost of living it. I think sometimes cancer brings itself upon us as a gift so that we have time to say "goodbye"... that's necessary for some people. Don't be afraid. (Your ambulance is cute... that along with Dan's "brashness" made me laugh and I needed that. :)

I actually like the idea of this one. It's a serious subject, but it's drawn in a comical way. There's something almost ethereal about the idea of a physical thing like a vehicle smashing not into cancer but into the concept of cancer.

It's an old one, but I only just now browsed your board. This is awesome, I gasped when I saw it. Can't put my finger on what's making it so magical. Besides it being a dragon. Well, could be expected I love it, I like all of your works. |

'A fair display, my dear gal.'Can you guess what this picture represents? No one's wrong, though, 'cause art is such a target for individual interpretation. after all. Update: Now that I'm done, I guess I'll tell you (though it is rather obvious). It is the paradise brought through salvation! Sleepy time!

Congratulations Hokori, "Zenker's Degeneration" is awarded first place for Contest Week 60: Paradise.I think what I like most about this is that it doesn't even need a description or a title. The picture can stand alone and tell the viewer the same story or a similar story through the symbols. There's a self contained narrative here that shows us a past, present, and future. Aesthetically it's very interesting. There's everything from pure black to pure white to various intense colors, but you avoided overpowering us by being very selective about how much of each of these colors to use and by balancing the composition with some amounts of similar colors in other places. For example, the bright red of the neck is balanced by the same red in the devil's face. The surreal perspective works well for the story-telling aspect as well.

Contest Week 60: Paradise *11ish day contest. -now closed for judging- Paradise could be many things- a place, a dream, or maybe a time spent with someone. There's no wrong answer there, because paradise to you is going to be different from what someone else's paradise is. Your goal here is to show us what you think paradise is. I really don't like this kind of art, but I'm fooling around on a Mac and they're extremely hard to control in Las sketch...Can't really zoom in and there is no scroll wheel that works for this... Bah, oh well. I might work on this at home with my XP... Anyway, base color laid out...just gotta clean up the lines some, them blend some darker colors in just a teensy bit.

I haven't noticed any difference between mac or windows xp for using lascaux sketch, and I use both. I don't use a mouse though, but there are some mice for macs with right button/scroll wheel. If you want to zoom in with lascaux there's a slider bar below the image. Moving it right will zoom in and it's at 100% when the bar/triangle thing is even with that notch near the left end of it. Here's an example.Try turning off the anti-alias when you draw these lines. That way when you fill in the space between the lines it'll be clean from the start and you won't get all those white spots by the lines.

Thanks for the tip.What I was talking about the zoom thing, is that, I can zoom in, but it messes the image up pretty badly. You have to zoom in on a specific point or it damages the image...:P |

Were you a member of any oekakis ( or other art boards) before 2draw? Just curious. :P It was linked in a teen titans oekaki I was currently a member of. I was sick of drawing teen titans, so I came here.

The Manga Oekaki Board is having a huge restoration project. All of our good oekaki artists are leaving and the quality of our 11-Stars Board (Or advanced board) is declining. We are currently cleaning up all the artwork not up to par and searching for great artists to come help us renovate. So, if you are a talented artist, come by and oekaki a couple times!

If I had the power to move this to Beginner, I would. After looking at moonlitwe's gallery and considering the 2Draw standards, I can safely say this is not Intermediate. Unfortunately, I can only move pieces to Intermediate or the Contest Board. Hopefully a more powerful mod will take notice and move this piece to the appropriate board.

I agree with Enjoy, Punky and Klox. I and several people have asked for more time and effort spent so the boards aren't flooded, and I hate repeating myself over and over. I'm sure when Mai or someone sees this and others she posted on Inter they'll be moved down appropraitely.
