is the fish on drugs? is that what the swirllies are?

This is soooo cool though I want a fish bowl like that that would be sweet
Roytje (Mar 4, 2007)
How did you get the watertool-look of the fish in Lascaux? I can't find that tool in Lascaux..
But this painting is fantastic, very stylish with a nice compostion. :)
Dr.Snoopy (Mar 4, 2007)
@Roytje: You need to activate blending and then lower the flow ;) But it feels different from Shi-Painter.
Just practice a bit and you start to feel comfortable.

It's a cool picture of a fish!
woah_pockster (Mar 5, 2007)

I really like the subtle use of colours, and the fact you have done 2 faces not just one, so its interesting to compare them...
R. (edited Mar 4, 2007)
Superb. It might be even more powerful if you flipped the right profile. Or if you turned the entire image 90 degrees, so that the profiles become landscapes. Or perhaps you could just tell me to go get stuffed.
lori (Mar 4, 2007)
thanks... R., I'm not sure you can flip images in Lascaux? never noticed that option anyway... but yes, I could do alot more with this, but these are my lazy type drawings, just line and fill
Kloxboy (Mar 5, 2007)
These faces are great, you really caught their features well with just a few indications of form. I like how you mix it up, you seem to be able to draw just about anything.

Nice to see you back here R. Hope you stay around this time.
R. (Jan 28, 2007)
Hi, Sweetcell. Just took a very pleasant stroll down your user boardwalk. I've been working hard on my first novel, which is going to be published in March. Busy, busy, busy.
Sweetcell (Jan 28, 2007)
Congratulations R, writing is a daunting thing in which I've only dabbled. Be sure to tell us when it's out.
R. (Jan 28, 2007)
Thanks. Will keep you posted.

Da's omdat je nog nooit zulke dingen in een bos gerookt heb. Nice work, Roytje Brinker.
Roytje (Jan 18, 2007)
Dat zal het zijn! Maar Brinker? Wie/ wat is dat?
R. (Jan 18, 2007)
Hansje Brinker, Roytje Brinker, what's in a name. Hij zou nu in ieder geval goed van pas komen: een jongetje die zijn vingertje in een gaatje in de dijk duwt.
Sweetcell (Jan 19, 2007)
Is it strange to say I liked the red pic better? The greens nice but (and I don't think you intended this) the tree looks like it's blowing the wind down from a mouth. Weird.

interesting style :]

Thanks, everyone. I usually draw on very rough Canson paper with a soft pencil. I've found a tool that mimics the effect.

perhaps it was the sandpaper grit #60 texture, i dunno.
R. (Nov 18, 2005)
If I say "yes", they'll probably hang this out front again.
Alter.Native (Oct 14, 2006)
I'm reclaiming my point! ;) Had to put this one on the map again, just because I think it is superb in every respect!..And..forget the inflatable version..I want a stone-carved one with rum shooting out of the nipples..
R. (Oct 15, 2006)
The Mock Marble Rum Dispenser is $ 49.95 (excl. postage). It hasn't been our strongest selling version, but I knew there would be a market for it.

The hollows in her cheek made me drool a little bit.

Go ahead. Make me comment.
Sweetcell (Jul 19, 2006)
The way you do these compositions always amaze me. The hand is delicate and the position of her face is so well drawn, and of course the dress. Pwetty pwetty.

"Cowgirl In The Sand"

Hello cowgirl in the sand
Is this place
at your command
Can I stay here
for a while
Can I see your
sweet sweet smile
Old enough now
to change your name
When so many love you
is it the same?
It's the woman in you
that makes you want
to play this game.

Hello ruby in the dust
Has your band
begun to rust
After all
the sin we've had
I was hopin' that
we'd turn back
Old enough now
to change your name
When so many love you
is it the same
It's the woman in you
that makes you want
to play this game.

Hello woman of my dreams
This is not
the way it seems
Purple words
on a grey background
To be a woman
and to be turned down
Old enough now
to change your name
When so many love you
is it the same
It's the woman in you
that makes you want
to play this game.

Yeah, I like it the shading reminds me of the way newspapers smell...don't worry it's a good thing.
