I'll lose some sales and my boss won't be happy, but I can't stop listening to the sound of two soft voices rendered in perfection, from the reels of this record that I have found. Everyday there's a boy in the mirror asking me: "What are you doing here?" Finding all of my previous motives growing increasingly unclear. I've travelled far and I've burned all the bridges- I believe as soon as I hit land- all the other options held before me, would wither in the light of my plan. So I'll lose some sales and my boss won't be happy, but there's only one thing on my mind- searching boxes underneath the counter, on a chance that on a tape I'd find: A song for someone who needs somewhere to long for. Homesick. Because I no longer know where home is.

A very succinct lesson in lighting. Kinda demystifies the Hopperian magic, but who gives a shit? Not me.
sagenev (Jun 7, 2005)

Renuar (Jun 8, 2005)

Reminds me of Charles Manson. Good drawing.
Gigandas (Jun 4, 2005)
Hey, I like this one. Really gives off a sense of emotion. If you squint at this one, it also looks like a photo too...

This brings to mind a song: "As for egrets, I've had a few. But then again, too few to mention."
emmamommalag (Jun 1, 2005)
hehehehe @R. Yep, it looks like an egret. Very nice, Lori. :)

Become ill.
Edit. How fucking fitting. I draw this, and then shortly afterward, I feel like shit for getting in a fight with my ladyfriend. And me without my goddamn bottle of whiskey, so fun.

The manic smiles are superb, and you've hit the 50's poster style really well. I think the lettering might look even better in caps, bold and italicised. And an exclamation mark would really round it off. (Just a thought.)
- Will you not drink from my font of wisdom?
George_Goat (May 30, 2005)
I live right next to hell! :]
There's actually a lot of trees there.

I like this lots, it's so satirical and great for the exaggerated old fashioned 50's ad-things. =D
Zack (May 30, 2005)
I just realized that woman's face and fur coat remind me of Cruella deVille.

The old advertising-style capitalization is fitting, although an exclamation mark might be a good idea.
Alex-Cooper (May 30, 2005)
That's exactly what I who I was thinking of when I was drawing her. Cruella deVille's last name is only an "rs" away from being related to me. League of Badass Last Names UNITE! And to all of you nit pickers; I probably would have done something more interesting with the text, but I was too stupid to figure out if there was a way to change the font.

...very frightening. I like the colors, though, and the background. Kinda like a hotel lobby.
ambermac (Mar 21, 2004)
haha, he's a wise doctor but yes, kinda frightening-looking. the stage setting looked alot like a garish hotel lobby.

good to see you R. how do you like the applets?
R. (Jul 18, 2004)
Hi, Christine. Re: the applets - they've brought me to the humbling conclusion that my range of skill is seriously limited. It's like spending a lifetime eating licquorice all-sorts and then accidentally walking into a sweet shop.

mm, nice texture. i want to sand it down and string it around my neck...or put a hole in it and place it in my garden as a water fountain.

My evening: Watched bad movie with ladyfriend. Went over friends house. Went to porn shop looking for Zorro/The Lone Ranger masks. Found none. Went to a diner. Had my first Belgium Waffle in the company of my ladyfriend, Carrie and Marc. Went home alone and drank/drew picture.

Thanks all.
R.: I dig your stuff as well. Think it will be a fine addition to 2draw. You a sword fighter or something?
Karisa: Drawing creepy things is easy. It's all in the eyes and teeth.
Davincipoppalaq: The Vernon Diner rocks. Go there when you feel like seeing a punk kid with a mohawk. Never fails.
davincipoppalag (May 21, 2005)
lol I've been there~! My cousin lives in Vernon..(or did..)
Alex-Cooper (May 21, 2005)
Awesome. Did you get their deadly poisonous Belgian waffles? Or just bask in the neon green and blue lights and wish you had a fishtank that clean?

I like the dark and light in the drawing! And the big number 5 that turns the grayscale into brownscale. Hehe, great picture! >:D

"The old get old, and the young get stronger" - not sure if that applies here. Superb composition and use of light and shadow.

Wow, that's so cool! It reminds me of the girl and guy in "Vampires will never hurt you" music video, by My Chemical Romance.
