Specialty Boards/Elite Bastards
Aubrey (May 22, 2006)
Always did love this picture of them. It's a print hanging on my wall and I've been wanting to give it a try for awhile now. Just been stressed with life for awhile, here and at work, so haven't had the physical or mental energy to draw. Hoping I'll finish this soon though.

I tried to paint my baby brother's highway patrol car (some of you were unfortunate enough to get a glimpse of my attempt) I gave up on it, I just couldn't get the wheels right. This http://new.photos.yahoo.com/deadlyblondearcher/album/576460762310485368/photo/294928803036212293/0 was the car I was painting. He came over day before yesterday to have lunch with me, I took a picture of him with his current car... it's thishttp://new.photos.yahoo.com/deadlyblondearcher/album/576460762310485368/photo/294928804383901133/7 ugly Ford with ugly rims, :O ANYWAY.... so I'm painting his badge, instead.

I know it seems relatively boring and rather "sterile" for a piece of art, but I really wanted to do it, so I AM. :)

I think you did super. Think I mentioned before about the neon colors, they're great. The overall composition is as well.
Black_Bird (Jun 16, 2009)
The lighting is amazing.

The surrounding environment is very cool in colours, then transpires to these great warm colours from your wife.

Definately deserves to be in advanced.

I wonder if you turn a surfboard upside down with the fins up if you could use it for a snowboard.

or...you could take your time and it'll be spring, anyway
Let's see, if the timer were correct on this thing, it would mean that I painted at an approximate speed of 1 HPM. (hair per minute) and 2 SPM (snoflakes per minute) :)

TOO cute, Cindy. Way too cute for words. Well done, too. That kind of combination can make your nose twitch and your feet tap and your brain heady like you had too much wine. :)

the texture on him is soooo wow. particularly in the ass area! awesome, cindy!

I found a US history project I made from long ago. Here's one page of it- boston massacre Note my flawless font choices and historical accuracy. Yes I did turn this in for class back then, and yes the other pages were more of the same.

It's marvelous as usual! I enjoy squinting my eyes and refocusing... I feel like I could reach out and grab it.

Hey, Miss Dj, he must be like your Patrick Swayze... you know, the pottery scene just came to mind. haha :P

Now, see here!
MrPaul (Dec 27, 2006)
Hey Dan, this looks great and the low key chroma you used makes this so much easier on my eyes! haha. I really like how you don't let a reference picture always dictate the colors you use in your artwork. Ugh, and your skill and confidence around the color wheel just sickens me! haha. :P
Axil62 (Dec 27, 2006)
Nah...sometimes I'll cheat and sample a ref's color if I get lost.

Kloxboy (Dec 18, 2006)
My take on a scene from "A Christmas Carol". I used a ref, the Scrooge character is my step dad and Tiny Tim is my nephew. If you haven't seen "A Christmas Carol" before, I highly recommend the 1951 film "Scrooge" aka "A Christmas Carol", it's the best of the film adaptations, in my opinion. I'm using this drawing as my Christmas card this year (e-cards mostly). As it stands, this is my Christmas card to all of you. :D
