the soft lines are impressive when the subject matter is usually so hard and metallic. i would love to know how you go about painting something so soft. the background is just as intriguing as the subject. |

This was actually a pretty fun picture to do, tedious at times but fun overall. It's the first picture I've finished on my new computer too :D. Hehe..if the motorcycle doesn't look like one, it's because I was just guessing. It has two wheels, so it's close enough :P. Timer is off by 4-5 hours(?). I was preoccupied with burning pancakes for lunch, and then going out to eat when the pancakes were too... frightening.

It's so effective to leave the hair and dress less detailed. One of my favourite painting styles--a mixture of impressionism and realism. When it works, as this does, I think there is no painting style more beautiful. Looking at these purples and orange/golds together is a sensory treat.
