simply precious.
emmamommalag (Jan 16, 2006)
So precious! I want to kiss her sweet little face. Beautiful work!
Artiste (Jan 16, 2006)
Thanks everyone, I wasnt sure I would end up posting it.
After v.1, to my horror, I realized she looked like she was taking a permanent nap in a coffin. A little more color in the face helped I think.
:)

This is really beautiful. Peaceful. I love the tones and softness.

this is absolutely wonderful

I love everything but the hair. I absolutely LOVE the face.
Rosemary (Jan 16, 2006)
this is so lovely :)
Childlike_Vampire (Jan 17, 2006)
Aww, it is so sweet, it makes me think that if she were mine I would like to kiss her forehead. Great drawing. ^^
fleeting_memory (Jan 17, 2006)
She's so cuuuuuuute! You got her face to look so restful.
JoeNobody (Jan 18, 2006)
dang, I thought I commented on this yesterday. Very nice work and she's adorable. The additional color in the face helped tons, now she looks like she's napping during a long car ride.
Opium (Jan 18, 2006)
Very nicely done! I do agree with Axil, but I also like the way you did it...made it so the attention was on her face, not on her hair. But what am I saying, ten times better then what I can do! Excellent :)
Artiste (Jan 19, 2006)
Axil/opium: do you mean the style of the hair, or the wait it's painted?
Thanks everybody for your kindness...
Axil62 (Jan 19, 2006)
No, not the style. It's not "bad" it's just not the same quality as the face... top notch. However, that could be a good thing too, it frames that face nicely without detracting from it.
Artiste (Jan 19, 2006)
Ok, when I first read it I took you to mean the hairstyle...
thanks for the input which is always welcome.

Awe-ppetizer perhaps?

what is the admiration du jour?

Tonight we have a succulent center cut prime envy covered in a light jealousy sauce served with a glass of our finest imported inspiration.
frootcake (Jan 23, 2006)
the face is madd. i just like the general softness of this :) +10000

It's so effective to leave the hair and dress less detailed. One of my favourite painting styles--a mixture of impressionism and realism. When it works, as this does, I think there is no painting style more beautiful. Looking at these purples and orange/golds together is a sensory treat.

pretty colors and blending
