Finished it up. C;

I made the wings on this transparent, because I don't like making quite the same thing twice; the blue lady on a previous art of mine also had butterfly wings so I wanted them to differ.

I draw with a laptop touchpad... D:

I dunno, making good pictures with a computer art program is mostly trial and error, practice, and refinement. *shrug*

I missed this one, it must have flown by me. I LOVE those wings, I find that hardest on fairie pictures. Gorgeous, and that little friend of hers is cute.

The hand and arm seem overly large but I love the crown.
George_Goat (Jul 29, 2006)
It was meant to. I wanted the Queen to look as miserly and greedy as possible, and quite a bit manipulative.

Actually I tried to put a ton of symbolism in this, which I will probably forget later anyway. =D So I might as well write it all down!

The black pit in the background symbolizes (mostly the sphere and cat) being trapped in the darkness and chaos that the queen has control over. While the person who represents the sphere is trapped within her claws in a bad position, perhaps they are a sphere of light because they already found out what she was like and now she is draining them of everything she wants, yellow bolts of upset and stress shooting out of them.
The cat can still try to reach for the outside, the light of the situation, even if it also has loyalties to its greedy master. I also made the Queen's stomach pouchy, to symbolize an over usage of wealth or affluence. This is also why I used a lot of green tones, to symbolize the wealth that she keeps all to herself and lies about.
The golden tones in this picture are cast only by the crown and jewlery, simply material extensions; I was trying to show that her actual noble, righteous heair, is indeed only a false act she casts over herself.

The overlaying shades of pink/fuschia, what I tried to make a more unnatural shade purposely, was what I thought would look like her false sense of compassion. The cat is still affected by them, is still unsure about them, wants to believe they are real.

The red directly in the middle of her crown and pendant was me trying to show that she is ruled very much also, by anger, along with the greed, and the blue veins in her hand is her sucking the power and will out of the blue sphere, as it begins to dwindle down.

I wish he'd been around when I came here. This is so interesting. There seems to be a person reflected in her goggles.

Because of the violent anomoly that orbits close to the colony every 4 years and briefly engulfs the neighboring moon Sitis the citizens cannot work for that one year and use that time to process the ores and metals found in abundance on Aracon. The anomoly's radiation is so harsh that should one be exposed for more than 5 minutes they have little chance of surviving. But despite this danger the citizens are willing to risk it for all the riches that can be found on the planet.

Absolutely awesome.
The atmosphere in this painting seems to have a ton of feeling in it. It's the kind of thing, that if you were really there you would be overwhelmed with the sheer mystery and danger of it.
I like this lots.

even though change is often needed for healthy growth as the situations and conditions of yesterday are not always the same as they are today, change through destruction is overrated. That's not to say destruction is never the best way, or that there aren't situations in which the complete downfall of the old ways are the only way that will work out in the long run, but a lot of anarchist I've come across are more focused on rebeling against their parents who told them to do chores than actually researching society and culture. You misspelled government XP
George_Goat (Jun 22, 2006)
Something tells me they might need more than eggs thrown at them....XD
Protests, people with more progressive thinking put in office, etc.

Nonetheless, I like the simple style of this, and it is kinda funny!

I agree with Dave, it looks like an Aztec cave painting, or a painting on a pot. Very nice.
