not yet....but using no ref seems to work this time
davincipoppalag (Feb 17, 2007)
Keep doing what you"re doing..the stuff you're posting is going in great directions..great faces
Dr.Snoopy (Feb 17, 2007)
Thanks :)I totally agree with you Miss DJ. I mostly use just fragments of a ref to have some shapes I can play with, or to learn something about anatomy. ...So this time I tried without anything. Wanted to be free like a bird...^^ But this piece has to wait a while to be finished, because the god of anatomy has changed his mind, so that I seem to get nothing right again -_- Good thing I'm posting in the beginner boards.

again experimenting with brush tools
hideyourface (Feb 12, 2007)
oh I saw that recently sweetcell, but it looks like in this that multiple lines were drawn with one stroke, and I dont get that.
cmb (Feb 14, 2007)
if you thin the brush down to 1xwhatever number, then rotate it round you can see on the monitor it will split into 3 or 4 lines, draw with that and you get the multi line effect....
Sweetcell (Feb 14, 2007)
It's a caligraphy effect with the pen Hide. At a certain angle you get multiple lines, as Chris shows here. Fascinating stuff. Doesn't work as well with the airbrush though. You should try with the square brush next time Chris.
cmb (Feb 16, 2007)
thanks for the tip sweetcell! |

"I am not a rib" haha, never really bought that either. Even in the Bible, man's fragile ego shines through. I used to do promotions for a punk band called Oedipus Complex in high school, man did they suck but they were original punks all the way. They always played drunk and were very violent, what's not to love? I think every man has that complex to some degree, maybe not as bad as ol' Oedipus did (thus it was named after him) but we all seek a little mommy in our companions. Interesting piece, it's fun to try and interpret what it means.

I think about spamming intermediate again :P
Mainly I went to beginner because I did A LOT of <30 minutes paintings and because I'm not too sure about the control I have over my style. (I paint what feels right)
