this is cool with the blue light in the eyes... I really like that red on the forehead too... another great one - the colors you choose remind me of old Renaissance paintings which I really really like... like this one: http://www.art.com/asp/View_HighZoomResPop.asp?apn=12969680&imgloc=21-2129-Z00DEW4O.jpg&imgwidth=671&imgheight=894

I like her strong facial expression, how you used bold, defined colors to put the lit part of her face into focus. Amazing portrait, really

A philosophical Question
shults (Nov 7, 2011)
So, I was painting a goldfish (using a ref) for its glass's reflections, and then I thought "axil's the only one I can think of right now that would do it justice".. and then I got to wonder, if there's "talent" for art, or is it just practice. Personally I don't feel I was born with a talent for art, but I see improvements as I practice. I realized the nativism vs. behaviorism question is old, but I want to look at it from a slightly different way. Talent can be viewed as the base level, wh...

why is it so hard to draw a vagina on every nude photo... im not a pervet, i just looks more realistic that way
Teapot (Aug 24, 2011)
Vaginae are not visible without an instrument that enables internal examination. I think you mean a vulva, or pudendum, the external female genitalia.
Flubbles (Aug 24, 2011)
Thats exactly what I was going to say.

Not just any garden, oh no, lets be clear...but a massive one in the verbena. Let's not leave that little detail out.
Teapot (Jun 14, 2011)
My garden is massive and it's way way way more than I can take care of which drives me crazy every day. The verbena is a plant that is the peachy color in this drawing. I don't suppose there is anything I can say that won't get a sarcastic, rude, mean remark from you so how about you just ignore my posts? You are being a bully. Does it make you feel proud of yourself?
Axil62 (edited Jun 14, 2011)
No, it makes me feel all ashamed and guilty and bad.
How about you ignore mine?

trying to draw from the perspective of the lightsource. I think if I can't imagine what is visible from there I won't be able to shade it properly. Reminded me that it's easiest to paint frontal lighting...because I don't have to put myself into multiple perspectives.

only one light source - no diffuse light - dull surface - no tricks to make it look right/good. thinky thinky

How to Paint like Shi painter
kupocoffee (May 8, 2010)
Hey Everybody, I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I need help with Adobe Photoshop and Corel painter 11. Im trying to figure out how to achieve smooth painting like the shi painter application. I'm in love with the Shi Painter Watercolor tool but it seems that I can not achieve this smooth paint in photoshop. Any Suggestions? Thank you. PS: I hope you can understand the wording of this question, I'm not so good expressing myself in words.

Not entirely sure how to start this. From time to time I see digital art produced here that is very detailed an realistic, I look at how many hours were spent on one piece and I have to wonder why someone would put that much time and effort into a drawing on 2draw. It's just not that important or fruitful. It's pixels on the internet. It's almost meaningless and yet people labor for hours upon end trying very hard to produce something that isn't going to be viewed for more than a few days at mos...
