I see I'm not the only one to give Cindy flowers!! I love this Miss DJ. Love the painterly feel of it! ;o)
Miss_DJ (Jan 30, 2008)
thanks! I wanted to spend more time on it..but decided to just keep it simple.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 18, 2008)
This is so beautiful....airy,delicate and spring-like. I love it. I'm saving it to my desktop.

You're such a special person, Donna, and I'm so blessed to have you as a friend. :)
Thank you for the flowers.
Miss_DJ (Feb 21, 2008)

I'm always fussing at you to draw something, and then you did, and I... missed it?... till now, anyway. I love the way it has such a deep 3-dimensional feeling to it... almost like a freeze frame from a movie.

That shiny bulging mid-section makes my trigger finger itchy.
Stryk_Nine (Feb 18, 2008)
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought the same thing as Klox...XD
So cool though.
Your art just plain rocks, Sincity =]

Yay! you finished now I can comment...I love how you lightened up her hair and clothes it really makes her blue eyes pop out. She is beautiful
Sweetcell (Sep 6, 2006)
This is nicely done. Profiles can be hard but you did hers well. It's silly but I'm loving how you made the cloth near the armpit look likes it's not simply resting there but there's a space between the cloth and the skin. Very subtle and well done that.
KuteDymples (Sep 7, 2006)
Sweetcell, I had changed that spot, originally it looked terrible and it bothered me. I was happy with it too. :-) I have an easier time with profiles than the full face for some reason, I am trying one right now of Angelina and I can't get her face right to save my life. But I am not giving up, hopefully you will see that here soon as well. and Wittle Fawah, her hair was very hard, actually I believe I lightened it too much, but by the time I was done with it, I was afraid to change it anymore. Thank you both for your nice comments.

They look good enough to eat! My little granddaughters picked most of my tomatoes and threw them all over the back yard last weekend. Grrrrr..
Sweetcell (Sep 14, 2006)
Pick one, make a sauce.
KuteDymples (Sep 14, 2006)
I like 'em just sliced with salt and peppa! My mouth is watering as I type. Actually my favorite tomatoe are the "green fried" ones. Yummy!
STARZSHINE (Feb 11, 2008)

I had one of those growing up (but I can't remember if it was Anne or Andy) And I still have a childrens book from the 80's. Thanks for the memories Kute. :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Sep 13, 2006)
Raggedy Ann! :) I loved the book, and my Raggedy Ann doll was one of my favorites, although I put her through way more hell than Marcella did in the stories...my Alaskan Simoan dog Snow White ripped my Raggedy Ann's head off in the end. I think we should start calling Marcello "Marcella"... it's much closer to home. :D

I'm glad you did this picture, it brought back lots of funny memories, and you did such a cute job in depicting them.
KuteDymples (Sep 14, 2006)
Thanks everyone for the great comments on these, I guess they are just "Old Favorites" of a lot of people. Actually I do paint a lot of childrens characters for pay but on canvas I do much better than on the net. I am really not half as good as I would like to be. I have painted so many Winnie the Pooh pictures I have grown not to like "The Pooh" much. LOL My favorite childrens characters to paint is Disney, Mickey and Minnie. I just love them and could never paint them enough.

I like the line of the water in the background, nice detail in the front with the flowers.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Nov 6, 2007)
Love the sharp contrast and the colors you chose. Glad you felt like doing something. :)
Axil62 (Nov 7, 2007)
Brights in front and muted toward the horizon. Nice depth. :)

Wow. I know I've said this before, but I TRULY wish this were a giant oil painting I could hang in my living room. It's warm and soft and soooo pretty.
(I love the little bluish touches in the "cold spots" of the painting)
MelissaMissy (Jan 29, 2008)
