xwindflyer (Apr 14, 2004)
Yes, the trees and perspective look much bwtter to me. Good job. If you had some kits to sell, this could be the cover on the box:o)..
davincipoppalag (Apr 14, 2004)
Lol I have an old Sterling Kit home of a B24J from the 60's.. I will have to look at the box and see what they have on it lol..
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Apr 14, 2004)
Yessir, I like this alot better. I shooooore do. :) I just love the smoke the bestest, though. :D edit: Oh, and I keep forgetting to tell you... in these plane pictures I love the way you do the propellors so that they look like they are moving... great job on that.

well. I hope this is good enough ^.^ Its not exactly great but I likes it.
emmamommalag (May 7, 2004)
I like the smoothness of the lips in contrast against the rough skin. Poor kid has such a look of hopelessness... makes you want to give him a big hug.
Wolfheart (May 8, 2004)
I love the nose, the way you colored it makes it seem 3D, fantastic job shading, especially the eyes. Though I'd add more detail on the lips like safescene said.
Patches (May 8, 2004)
hmm i agree about the lips...I may go in ana add some later. ^.-
Supergurl103 (May 9, 2004)

Just to let you know, a spambot recently hit my forums and posted canned promotional messages linking to 2draw all around my forums. The message looked like this: wanna draw in colour? want bigger canvas sizes? want to be part of a helpful and friendly drawing community? if so check out -- www.2draw.net There are two possibilities: 2draw actively spams other websites to promote itself Some doesn't like 2draw very much, and wants to smear their name by spamming other websites with it I...

We have slayed the mighty demon of spyware! He may be able to hide his genitals behind mountains, but he can never hide his true motives: to display annoying pop-up toolbars when you open your internet browser. Nevertheless, we have thrown the javelins of morality and decency and employed mercanaries of Spybot to vanquish our foe. And vanquished he is! For now.....Too tired to continue my crusade right now. Rest assured it will never end until spyware is wiped off of the earth. Go to get space in my studio. Gave him his wretched black blood and added a note about kicking spyware makers nards in.
laurael (May 8, 2004)
Good...I was hoping you'd get back to this one...kill all spyware...
DinoFlorist (May 8, 2004)
btw, i also employed ad-aware as per CrystalShandaLears advice. It has greatly aided my computers fight, but has not caused the level of spywarial genocide that I had hoped. I still have dirty pop up toolbars, but less often do they reload.

I used 'spysubtractpro' and it took care of the problems I had with those stinkin' spies... |

My second drawing. Give me some feedback!
Supergurl103 (May 7, 2004)
very nice, it was wonderful for second draw :) (compare to my second draw, this is really good ;) ) nice one, kolibri :)
davincipoppalag (May 7, 2004)
Not bad.. it needs more shading and some of the shadow is incongrouous.. (theres a dark shadow on the left of the nose where the light seems to be shining on the rest of the face).. I like the expression, and the overall look.. Mizz Cindy...Y'all still jailbait honey... and when you get worried about 40..take a look at Jaclyn Smith..(55) and Raquel Welch (not positive..but waaaay over 40)
emmamommalag (May 7, 2004)
It's very good but I'd thin and smooth out that shadow by the nose and sharpen up the corners of the mouth.
kolibri (May 8, 2004)
Thanks. Feedback is good! |

For lack of a better title...

Really Marcello? Thanks for that...didn't use a reference for this, and I had been thinking that it looked a bit 'odd'. I'll fix that when I have time...

so cute
Aubrey (May 4, 2004)
Lori... don't be so hard on yourself.. if you think something is impossible of course it'll overwhelm you everytime you try to face it. Fur is something that is really hard to do. Imagine, the Gerbil and Rabbit on the blockbuster commercials took over one million single strand hairs on each one to make them look real. In that respect none of these pictures can look "just LIKE" the photo. If you set impossible goals for how you want your picture to turn out you'll always be disappointed. I think you should be proud. It's a very nice picture of a squirrel. The contrast would come along nicely if only you set high, but realistic, goals for how you want it to turn out. Art is supposed to be a release from life and troubles and turmoil, not create it. Don't stress over a picture.. just relax, you're great :-D
LovelyLori (May 5, 2004)
this is as done as it's getting, I've already gotten extra space once.... thanks Aubrey, such nice words... I've always been a perfectionist, and get real irritated when something doesn't turn out how I want it to.... this little guy would've been better had I taken a different approach from the beginning, but oh well.... lately, I just feel like playing on here, doing things from my mind rather than a reference... and you wouldn't believe how many pics I've deleted recently! lol
DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 5, 2004)
I think he turned out quite nicely, Lori, and I totally understand the perfectionist frustration thing. I have been doing the same thing lately... working on stuff and then just deleting it. One of the first paintings I ever did in real oils I got so mad that I painted a huge black x on it and threw it on the floor. It felt wonderful. (But I was like 8 years old lol) I got in alot of trouble, though. :) And the next day I told my art teacher she was ugly and fat (well... she was, and she was mean to me, too) Sometimes you just have to let it go and do exactly that, draw and paint things that you like just because you like them, and don't worry about if anyone else is going to like it or not. Some of your best stuff will come out like that. Right now I am working on the weirdest picture I never thought I'd do.... just because it's a combination of some of my favorite stuff. Even if it doesn't turn out perfect I'm going to post it and be happy. You should be proud of your squirrel... he looks fat and happy to me. :)
LovelyLori (May 8, 2004)
thanks dba.. well put.... I hate getting so frustrated, and I try to tell myself not to give a damn about it... but it's kinda hard on this site, I want things to look just so for all who view it..... |

I just had to revisit the sea, and let it all go! lol
xwindflyer (May 2, 2004)
lol, It does seem a little out of focus to me now too. I don't remember that it was that way when I posted it. (maybe I was just tired, and my eyes were out of focus, and it looked good to me then.) :o)
davincipoppalag (May 3, 2004)
If you're on aol xwind.. they have that preset compression thing for graphics which makes things go blurry in the interest of speed in loading. You can disable it. There is a posting here somewhere on how, I forget where.I did it..but I decided I would rather see a bit blurry than have another birthday waiting for sharp loads. I am on dialup so its already slow as molasses .
DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 6, 2004)
Maybe that's why everything needs to be sharper, Davin? lol....
emmamommalag (May 6, 2004)
Do you mean from the artist's or the viewer's standpoint? It seems to me that if it had something to do with your computer or connection, ALL the pics would look blurry. |
