I think I don't like red, but then I'm always attracted to these paintings that are all red. I like that my eye goes to the focal point in the center and all around, and back to the focal point. I'm not sure what it is but it doesn't matter, I like it because the composition works like that.

Looks like someone said "shove it up your ass" And then they did.

Sam Stone came home,
To his wife and family
After serving in the conflict overseas.
And the time that he served,
Had shattered all his nerves,
And left a little shrapnel in his knee.
But the morphine eased the pain,
And the grass grew round his brain,
And gave him all the confidence he lacked,
With a Purple Heart and a monkey on his back.

There's a hole in daddy's arm where all the money goes,
Jesus Christ died for nothin' I suppose.
Little pitchers have big ears,
Don't stop to count the years,
Sweet songs never last too long on broken radios.

Sam Stone's welcome home
Didn't last too long.
He went to work when he'd spent his last dime
And Sammy took to stealing
When he got that empty feeling
For a hundred dollar habit without overtime.
And the gold rolled through his veins
Like a thousand railroad trains,
And eased his mind in the hours that he chose,
While the kids ran around wearin' other peoples' clothes...

Sam Stone was alone
When he popped his last balloon
Climbing walls while sitting in a chair
Well, he played his last request
While the room smelled just like death
With an overdose hovering in the air
But life had lost its fun
And there was nothing to be done
But trade his house that he bought on the G, I. Bill
For a flag draped casket on a local heroes' hill

The best water I've ever seen. That counts in real life, too.
Gigge (Oct 9, 2004)
Very pretty, Thug. The water looks so clean and inviting. No wonder that lovely dolphin has such a big smile.

One of my favorite books of all time...2 or 20.

-----
Timer is a tad off...about 20 minutes.
I had forgotten how unique each artist's line quality/style is, until trying to draw Harold from the book. (matching the colors of the aged paper and the ink...haha.)

:0 I remeber that one ahaha where the things he made were real....I think o__o
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 9, 2006)
Never saw this book, but this made me laugh. This reminded me of when my daughter was a "toddler" she used to color on the walls and the furniture, and then come to me with this really guilty look on her face and say "I "din't codor on de wall, Mommy." :)

I really like this one. I would have emphasised the toes on our left, his right, a little less, but the mood and pose are very effective. Something about the whole thing conjures the past for me, my past, like when I was around 18.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jan 11, 2006)
Imagine that, a guy on a couch. Guys never get on couches. This is moody and I like it, as well.
staci (Jan 17, 2006)
its no doubt his moms couch.

I LOVE THIS! *cheer*
