Just had to try it. The glass part was the hardest. I know they are not perfect, but the best I could do at this time of night. My Reference Picture: http://www.designer-fashion-trends.com/img/sunglasses/chanel-sunglasses-1.jpg

Thanks for all of the great comments! I just thought of something funny, should have put these on the Alien Frill.
~NC~WildGunzTomcat~NC~ (Sep 21, 2006)
Wow that's pretty good. Very nice. (This is Brian btw lol)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Sep 21, 2006)
Unmistakably Chanel, yeah. I always liked the "signature" because it looks like two intertwined horseshoes. (I'm sure that's probably not what was intended)... I think cheap sunglasses make a much classier statement when you can wear them and "pull it off".... but that's the rebel in me. :) I would love to have these.

I think you did a wonderful job on the translucence of the lenses.

Thanks everyone for your comments, I can't believe how long ago I did this. I did sparkle them up a bit. I hope it looks better.

I gave it one more shot....I'm done. Maybe lighting just wasn't meant to be duplicated exactly. Just can't get it bright enough! Oh well.

The other one was better but this aint bad!
DMV (Sep 21, 2006)
I like the color for the sky...I tried to do lighting before...I got the same results.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Sep 21, 2006)
I absolutely love the sky behind the lightning in this. I wonder if not being able to reproduce it in art has anything to do with the fact that none of us has ever seen lightning for more than a fraction of a second....? We can view it in photographs, but that is a different image... it's not the real thing. It's just a thought.

I might have to try this again. Maybe... I don't know. I hate failing at stuff and I'm pretty sure I can't do it any better than the last times I tried.

The hollows in her cheek made me drool a little bit.

Go ahead. Make me comment.

The way you do these compositions always amaze me. The hand is delicate and the position of her face is so well drawn, and of course the dress. Pwetty pwetty.

"Cowgirl In The Sand"

Hello cowgirl in the sand
Is this place
at your command
Can I stay here
for a while
Can I see your
sweet sweet smile
Old enough now
to change your name
When so many love you
is it the same?
It's the woman in you
that makes you want
to play this game.

Hello ruby in the dust
Has your band
begun to rust
After all
the sin we've had
I was hopin' that
we'd turn back
Old enough now
to change your name
When so many love you
is it the same
It's the woman in you
that makes you want
to play this game.

Hello woman of my dreams
This is not
the way it seems
Purple words
on a grey background
To be a woman
and to be turned down
Old enough now
to change your name
When so many love you
is it the same
It's the woman in you
that makes you want
to play this game.

THIS is striking. (sorry 8])

But really Elly, I am amazed at how far you've come in such a short time. I feel so sorry for that tree.
elly (Sep 20, 2006)
Ha, thanks SC. I look at my first few and sort of laugh. I can draw & paint no problem, it was just learning the tools here and knowing when and where to use them. It's so much fun! I LOVE this board!!! (STILL wish I had a drawing tablet though!!!!! Maybe I'll get one for my birthday or Christmas?)
Gemmy619 (Sep 21, 2006)

DeadlyBlondeArcher (Sep 20, 2006)
lmao....Could you pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the bottom? Take a bow. (If you hold the boot just right when you bow you won't have to read)
Sweetcell (Sep 20, 2006)
Just some little shaded lines and dodge like David suggested, and a hint of a cloud. But it's fair.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Sep 20, 2006)
Nope, it'll still be SSssssshhhhheeeee-uuuuutty, like he said. (Did I say that right?... or, I should say... Did I say that "correctly"?

An interesting suggestion for improving the site
mikron (Sep 15, 2006)
The beauty is in the eye of the beholder and therefore I suggest that there will be a quick voting system for each piece with negative and positive voting buttons (2 buttons). If the piece has 5 more negative votes than positive votes, then the piece will be transferred automatically to a lower level board, and the votings for that piece will be nullified. Of course that double voting won't be allowed and will be enforced by saving a list of users who already voted to the specified piece. ...

~I wish a buck was still silver.
It was back when the country was strong.
Back before Elvis; before the Vietnam war came along.
Before The Beatles and "Yesterday",
When a man could still work, and still would.
Is the best of the free life behind us now?
Are the good times really over for good?
Are we rolling down hill like a snowball headed for hell?
With no kind of chance for the Flag or the Liberty bell.
Wish a Ford and a Chevy,
Could still last ten years, like they should.
Is the best of the free life behind us now?
Are the good times really over for good?

I wish coke was still cola,
And a joint was a bad place to be.
And it was back before Nixon lied to us all on TV.
Before microwave ovens,
When a girl could still cook and still would.
Is the best of the free life behind us now?
Are the good times really over for good?~

Wonder why it is country singers seem to have so much character in their faces..great impression of him
Cameo (Sep 18, 2006)
Although I like Country music, I've never heard this song. Great lyrics! A good job Axil, you portrayed him well.

In September
for a while
I will ride
a crocodile
down the
chicken soupy Nile.
Paddle once
paddle twice
paddle chicken soup
with rice.

This belongs here squee, it's cute and I can feel the playfulness as he decides whether to chase the butterfly. And I agree the whiskers and little stones are a nice touch.
