Ah yes, the orb weaver! While I am more interested in Insects then Arachnids, I still think spiders are awesome, and this one you drew is no exception, good job, I also like the hairs on the legs.
Opium (Dec 26, 2005)
lol DBA I know....VERY sticky web! A friend of mine ran into one also, and he stripped down almost naked and was screaming like a little girlthank you guys for all your great comments :)
laurael (Dec 27, 2005)
That's very creepy looking...that means it looks very real. Great job, you. Hold one so it can crawl all over you? I don't think so....*shudders*
Deino (Dec 30, 2005)

I had a fish named Popeye n_n
Axil62 (Dec 24, 2005)
My black moor was named Bart. But I did have a red headed Mitred Conure named popeye. He loved me but he would bite the kids, so I returned him to the pet store. In an unrelated story, once when I was 5 years old I was sitting on the toilet pooping when I heard an ambulance speed past our house with it's sirens blaring. At 5 an ambulance speeding by with it sirens going is pretty damned big deal. I finished pooping and wiped my ass and pulled my pants up as fast as I could. I ran outside to try to catch a glimpse of it but I was too late. A couple of my friends were outside talking excitedly about it. I felt awful, here we had this major serious event, at least it was to a 5 year old boy, and where was I? Pooping, sitting on the toilet with a turd hanging out of my ass. My friends asked where I was, did I hear it? I acted like I didn't care so much. I wasn't about to tell them where I was and why I missed it. I felt bad about the whole thing for a long time.
Creature201 (Dec 24, 2005)
Ooh! Fishy! Fish are so cool! This picture is awesome, it's so real, yet the style is so incredibly simplistic. |

Yup. First piece here.... comments/suggestions/constructive crit VERY much appreciated.
Creature201 (Dec 23, 2005)
Ooh! Very nice! Although some shading on the hair wouldn't hurt.
Opium (Dec 24, 2005)
Welcome to 2draw! Very nice first drawing! You did phenomenal on the eyes. The skin could use a tad more blending. Oh, and I am fairly new too, and I would say try Oekaki shi-painter also. Play around with both applets. I've found I prefer shi-painter. Lascaux has a lot of buttons and options, OSP is a tad more basic and less overwhelming. Oh, and what took me forever to find was the opacity option. Try using that to help blend skin and what not on your drawings. Good job again and welcome!
patienceisoverrated (Dec 27, 2005)
Thanks for the tips and the welcome! I will definitly try Oekaki shi-painter as well.
Miss_DJ (Dec 28, 2005)
wow very impressive, especially for a first draw. I think you did a nice job on the skin. I don't think realism is always what people are going for in here. The skin is a perfect compliment to her hair. |

yea i jsut tryed to draw somethign that fitted in with intermediate....MERRRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
Creature201 (Dec 23, 2005)
Don't use the fill tool to color in pictures, put the color on a another layer behind the layer with the outlines, you may need to stay on beginner a tad longer until you improve more.
Hokori (Dec 23, 2005)
Um, not intermediate skill, sorry. You should layer (well, I'm sort of a hypocrite, but I fill in every little missed spot I see). |

Something I felt like wasting time on.
Creature201 (Dec 18, 2005)
I don't suggest using the blur effect as much as your using it, And try using layers to color, rather then the fill tool. |
