My first performance! :D
Ceido (May 24, 2006)
For those of you who don't know what beatboxing is... it's replicating percussion sounds with your mouth and making beats. There are no effects on the mic, it's all from me mouth. I've een beatboxing for about 2 years nowand I did my first performance with some emcees on friday at a Uni charity event. There was around 50 people there, the sound system was pretty crap but it all went pretty good i suppose. We were then asked to perform again the next day at another charity event! :O Saturdays ...

'Slider' Armed Robotic Sentry

Intended for mild security duty, the Slider is armed with a dual laser turret and three targeting eyes to help it discern distance and movement. On flat ground it can maintain a maximum moving speed of nearly 15 MPH, and due to its lightweight construction it has a vertical jump of 4.2 feet. However, Sliders have severe difficulty making sudden stops or turns at speeds above 6 MPH, prompting their nickname.

The standard Slider model shown here weighs in at a mere 180 lbs and stands about 4' tall. While the dual laser turret remains the most popular choice of weaponry, Sliders are also available with dual submachine guns or a single high-caliber machine gun in the turret.

Although not a particularly fearsome robot individually, Slider units are able to wirelessly communicate with each other to swarm a foe. Those who are interested in low-cost security often will purchase a few Sliders rather than spring for a larger, more expensive robot due to how easy it is to upgrade a security force by adding extra Slider units.

Oh man... That's some really scarey stuff. What I hate about that experience is that it always seems so damn real! I've had it happen to me once, I was laying in bed, couldn't move, when someone started pounding on my bedroom door like crazy. I wanted to answer it, even say something, but I was paralyzed. Then, suddenly, I snored really loud and startled myself out of the trance-like state. I was very weirded out at hearing myself snore, but even more weirded out when there was no-one on the other side of the door...

Is there any way you can keep your eyes closed during your subconscious hallucinations?
Ceido (edited Apr 29, 2006)
Weird.. I've been trying to put myself in that state because it's a on the transition from being awake to being awake in a dream. Lucid Dreaming. I'd like to experience it, but sounds a bit weird/scary.
Felistorm (edited Apr 29, 2006)
OMG This completely freaked me out only because I recognized that wolf-like thing from my own nightmares. I have a rather interesting background with it. Not just that but the state you were in describes mine perfectly almost minus the urge to kill anyone. Mine (and I cannot believe I am writing this) Mom had nightmares about it chasing me before i was born. Then I started having them. I would be so terrified to go to sleep that I would almost avoid it and then I would sometimes try to wake up and end up in something between asleep and awake. I would be aware of my surroundings and yet be caught in my dream. I would be struggling to open my eyes but couldn't and would have to scream for my mom to come shake me. I would also have dreams where I was fighting the creature. I never became it though. I did on the other hand have shapeshifting dreams where I would become a cougar ...thus my artist signature. I would wake up with grass in my bed and wonder if I sleptwalked. What is the name of the sleep disorder? I've not had these since I was 18 but still have some very vivid dreams. I would like to find out more about it. This is fascinating. I had just thought I should draw mine. I'd not checked in in awhile and wanted to draw something and I scrolled down and saw this. I am so glad you decided to go ahead and post it. I forgot to add I did have the urge to "hunt" when I dreamed that I shapeshifted.

a new dimension in my art
Zack (Apr 12, 2006)
Hey everyone, just thought I'd make a quick post to show you some of the work that's keeping me from drawing on 2draw these days. This was modeled and rendered completely in 3DS Max, and the robot is my own design. front angle shot back angle shot low angle shot Man, I never thought I'd actually end up doing this kind of stuff. This guy is going to end up be...

Contest Week 11: Dreams and Nightmares
Kloxboy (edited Apr 30, 2006)
The Contest Board Is Back! After a two month absence, the contest board is finally back in action. There will be a couple changes to this board, but nothing really significant. The only big change is, I, Cloxboy, will be organizing the contest board from now on. My goal is to keep the contest schedule consistent, without lag time. The Contest Board can be an excellent motivator to improve your artistic skills, I hope you all find tim...
